Loved the last update but this is even another step up, fantastic. May have best photo mode of any game ive seen - r3 to move the sun :slol:

Dunno if it glitched, installed a terminal, recruited technician but cant find him at my base to make buggy...uh oh...

So before I bother getting back into this - can anyone confirm if you're given these new vehicles from the off, or are they locked behind massively unrealistic credit-walls?

I recall seeing that in the last update you could have these orbital freighters...but they cost MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of credits to actually obtain. If that's the case with getting a little buggy.....meh, I'll hold off.

A quick YT search reveals you do need to obtain stuff before you get the vehicle, but it doesn't seem too demanding. Well, the buggy type doesn't seem too demanding, but I guess the larger ones will require more mats.

SoK, you've helped resolve a "mystery"! For the last couple of years I didn't know what people where going on about when they spoke of "mats". Particularly in Elder Scrolls Online, folk use the word a lot and I never knew what they were referring to.

So... materials  :fp:  .

No Man's Sky on PS4 Pro delivers the 1080p60 dream - But the Path Finder update's 4K support needs some work

I bought this and I dont get it. I thought it was supposed to be a lone dude getting by in the universe but instead I have these quest objectives constantly taking space on my screen telling me to go and speak to alien dudes.

The resource management is totally tedious seeing as you have to do it for like 4 different things at once which all decay too fast which means you can barely explore in the exploration game.

I suspect you're in the first couple of hours of the game, Falsey? The game does start with a bit of a pathway; this gets you used to mining, collecting and obtaining a working ship. When you're starting out your suit - and ship - has a very small inventory capacity and few capabilities but, over time, you will be able to improve upon this.

After those early hours you really will be able to go anywhere you want to. There are a couple of "goals" in the game but, by most accounts, they're probably not worth targeting. The better option, and one that is supported by the two recent updates, is to pursue that sense of adventure and make your own path.

Stick with it and you'll be on that journey :toot: .

Yeah the inventories are extremely irritating. Ive built a hyperspace thing and warped and then learned to make more goo and ready to warp again. Is this the point where I can do what I want?

I can see a few items I can make, but nothing as substantial as a wall or building or a ship. Just shite like more goo or batteries.

Is there such a thing as a planet which doesnt have radiation or acid rain or ice cold so I can focus on just looking about without strawberry floating around with hazmat batteries all of the time?

Seems like you have had the bad luck of spawning in a shitty starter system. But yeah, there are plenty of planets which will allow you to wander about at your leisure.

All the planets are different (and random) but you could get one that isn't toxic or radioactive. If you're ship has working launch thrusters then fuel it up and head off somewhere else. Alternatively, start looking for upgrade recipes by investigating buildings/outposts. If you can find the appropriate shielding recipe then you're good to go.
