Um, wasn't the new Zelda shown in 2014?

Nintendo are a multi-billion pound corporation, they could afford to go years not showing games until launch and it probably wouldn't affect them much for a good long while. You cannot compare how they do business to the necessities of a tiny indie dev possibly needing to generate buzz to secure investment. Oh and, not forgetting the whole hugely-ambitious-project-whilst-having-a-very-small-team thing.

I've made this point before but I think it's worth hammering home: the reason many indie devs go indie is because they want to make games their way. They don't want to ship until it's ready. That isn't a bad thing, in fact it's the total bloody opposite and I hope it long continues. Though preferably not for much longer in the case of No Man's Sky and Below. *cough*

Not yet... it's odd how this rumour has sprung up so close to the expected release date with no official word being made.

Similar thing happened with Uncharted 4; guy on PS I Love You podcast said he'd heard about the delay, (i.e. last delay before it actually launched) no one heard anything for weeks and then *bam* came the official announcement. If every delay plays out in a similar fashion then expect Horizon: Zero Dawn to get delayed too.

But we weren't given the comparatively continuous razzle dazzle that we've had from NMS. We got one cinematic trailer and a year later, one very obviously incomplete interview type thing, and a couple of screenshots.

NMS has been everywhere for a while now.

I still don't think there's a right and wrong way of doing it. No matter when a game is first shown / released, it could still end up either great or awful.

People just need to learn to git sum payshunsh. (That or temper hype levels.)

I thought that was yen, and they're worth just multi million pounds, still good but nothing amazing at the moment?

I'll be honest, I didn't read it fully, but a quick glance at this suggests the billions aren't in yen alone: http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/04/27/plea ... -is-doomed

I can still see Horizon being bumped to 2017 to coincide with the PS4k release. Hello Games should be given all the time they need to get NMS ironed out for that launch day rush

Now confirmed on the PS Euro Blog, too.

Man, I want this game to be the best it can be... but another delay is pretty frustrating.

At least it is still Summer. Perfect time for a game like this. Would have been better through July though.

You'll still get impatient splits who will be scrambling to set up a us account just to get it a few days early.

i see some people are still hiding under rocks if they are clueless on what No Man's Sky is about. after all, the information is out there.

perhaps the topic title could be altered to point them in the direction of IGN so they can garner the information they seek?

I don't work work that many weekends any more but I still haven't read any convincing arguments about why the standard UK release date should be a Friday.

Let's hope they play tested it, realised there was nothing to do in it, and are now scrambling to add in content.
