When/how do I get the opportunity to build a base? I've met 2 characters who offer me their services but I can't take them up on it as I haven't built a base.

I'm at the point where I've hyperdrived and found materials to refuel hyperdrive. I now seem to be able to fly where I want?

Fly into space. Click the left stick to do a system scan. It then might give you a destination called 'habitable base' or suchlike. Fly there and take control of it. Simple as that.

At some point you'll detect a base in a system when you jump there, and it will tutorial base building for you

I'm currently searching for Spadonium in order to build something very early on for my base. The last 4-5 times I've loaded up I've tried 2-3 planets without any luck.

It's getting less and less appealing.

I just got that quest before I went to bed last night. I've already sold all my Spadonium.

Oh well I'll be venturing back to my NFFC system and visiting Brian Clough planet again to get some more. Or was it on Stanley Victor Collymore planet?

I've started calling my planets by the name of the rare element on them after taking an age finding a planet that had Temerium on it.

Hello,

This week Hello Games will be releasing the next content update for No Man's Sky. We're calling it the Path Finder Update; it introduces a new vehicle that will aid home planet exploration, building on the Foundation Update to hint at a path ahead for the future.

Detailed patch notes will be released when the update goes live.

Shortly after we launched the Foundation Update, we released a number of patches to address issues reported by players before beginning work on the Path Finder update. We were surprised and excited by the response to Foundation, and we have been listening carefully to community feedback since then.

To those of you who have spent time sharing feedback, whether positive or negative, we are listening.

This is the next step in our journey. It shows the path forward. We hope you'll join us.

Thank you,
Hello Games

Driveable rover? That could be neat.

I haven't touched this since before the last update, but it's still sat on my PS4 waiting to be played again...

:toot: . The Foundation Update was tremendous and that has made me think that this new update will be great, too. I had taken a break from the game but this will undoubtedly draw me back in. Excellent stuff!

Looks like a good update. The buggy thing is basically God mode if you find a planet of vortex cubes though.

Although I loved the game right from the off, it's clear that some folk didn't. Hello have put a lot of work into the two main updates and the game really has been expanded. It still may not be the everyone's cup of tea, but content-wise it is a world away from the launch version.

Okay, that looks pretty awesome. Should've included something that resembles a Speeder Bike or BARC Speeder from Star Wars for added cool factor, though.
