They were lying literal days before the game came out. What the strawberry float are you actually talking about?

Sean Murray was still banging on about multiplayer on launch day.

I heard him on numerous occasions saying it wasn't a multiplayer game. That's what he said.

To be super clear - No Man's Sky is not a multiplayer game. Please don't go in looking for that experience.

That's just before launch from Twitter...I'm not really sure how it could be any clearer. All the way through development although there were interviews where he said things that could be interpreted as meaning that you could actually see another player in your game (the 'the only way to know what you look like' line) he was saying 'this is not a multiplayer game'.

People read into some ambiguities about how cool it would be to find someone else in the game and ran with it despite all the evidence (like him actually saying it wasn't a multiplayer game) being to the contrary.

In other interviews he clearly states that people can meet up, though unlikely and be griefers.

It depends on the definition of a meeting, you can go to the same planets and see what people have named things, its a certain kind of meeting even if its not what people wanted.

And like I said, in those very interviews he also says 'this is not a multiplayer game'.

Just because you might want something to be so, doesn't make it so. People wanted this game to be something it was never going to be, like I said, all the way through development there was plenty of evidence that it wasn't that. People just ignored it and focussed on the things that were said that could be taken in a way that meant there was a multiplayer component to the game.

There's a literal essay of 'missing features' they left out of the game on the last page, with citations, and you chose to ignore it.

I didn't ignore it, I said that some of it I didn't totally agree with. By which I didn't mean that those things had never been talked about, but that they didn't qualify as 'significant things that had been removed'.

Some of them do, some of them don't.

I don't want it to be so, please don't put words in my mouth. I care very little about what has been said and hasn't been said.

Now i see why the subreddit shut down, this should too, nothing of value would be lost.

I'm intrigued by the upcoming additions. I bought this at launch and was gutted. It wasn't for me. Too little to do, but I hope that the stuff they add can make it worth going back to. I bought into the hype too much and went digital (I never do this), so would quite like to get some value out of it.

Base building won't draw me back into the game. A patch which added other gameplay elements Murray spoke of before release, would.

Update 1.1 is downloading now (PS4). "I'm excited!" :toot: .

EDIT: I've only watched a little bit of that vid as I am avoiding spoilers, but... I'm now getting over-excited! I can't play until late tonight, though...

EDIT: Different buildings and space bases :o .. they look great! I'm hyper-excited!

Auto mining tools! :o  :o

The building mechanic was a great mix of simple and slick.

Improved picture quality/fewer sharp edges is good news, too.
