No - your weapons always have their base damage (267, 300, 331 etc) and if you are below the level of your enemy then this damage is reduced (68%, 55% etc). If you are at the level of your enemy or higher then you do at least your baseline damage.

Eg;

You 29 - Enemy 30 = 68% damage
You 30 - Enemy 29 = 100% damage
You 31 - Enemy 31 = 100% damage

Yeah, its pretty simple once you look at it. Its why its a pain in the arse when some level 26 with base weapons wants boosting through VoG hard or something - he is doing so little damage he is literally just dead weight.

Hi all,

I completely forgot about this section of GRcade, I usually only go to "off topic".

I'm on the peasant 360 at the mo, hope to get a One in the next few months.

I have 1 of each character type at lvl 32 with maxed weapons on each and play most evenings, probably too much.

I'm up for helping anyone with weekly's, nightfall's etc but only at lvl 30 setting. Currently have the Crota hard cp on 2 of my characters so trying to finish them tomorrow.

gt is metalgear2k2.

Everything Falsey said is correct.

A weapons base damage will remain the same but enemies at a higher level have better armour. It's not your weapon getting worse...it's the enemy being more powerful.

Weapons of Light is the only modifier that I can think of that increases damage...apart from the abilities you unlock for random one-off higher attack.

So, Would it be recommended to wait until your level 31 if you have underleveled weapons to do the Level 30 Crotas end?

If you are below the level of the enemy then you do a reduced rate of damage.

Level 31 is good, but it can be done at 30. Just be prepared for it to be harder than it could be. Depends on the rest of your team really. Vendor gear can get you to 31 so you should really be looking at that.

Yes...because they have better armour i.e. more hits are required.

Indicate which part of this statement is incorrect.

Went to Crota for the first time last night, it's so much harder than VoG. We got up to Crota itself but our swordbearer kept making silly mistakes to get killed. Typically all I got throughout the whole raid was shards and energy again though. :(

I was just wondering the same thing. A quick Google suggested the Speaker takes them, but I'm not sure what he actually sells. Is this true?

Just class items. 26 motes if I remember correctly.
