I'm looking forward to traditional North Korean cuisine making it's way to takeaways here in the UK.

North Korea have changed time zones to be in the same zone as South Korea.

Peace in our time, gentlemen.

They changed to Humanity Savings Time because blasting forward and raughing back was a real pain in the Pyongyang.

Talks could lead to a better life for millions, or all out nuclear war. As much as I hate to say it, it's time to root for Trump. :capnscotty:

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

Got to hand it to Trump here, this is a major breakthrough.

Can't help but say, even if it's unnecessary, that it would be more deserving of the peace prize than anything Obama ever did. Although Obama seems like a nice guy, that was a particularly low benchmark for the award.

Immediately counterbalanced and then some by the rise of violent nationalism, bigotry and racism Trump presides over, the increasingly brazen actions of Russia, along with the brewing Israeli-Iranian war, pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, etc.

This peace talk wouldn't be happening without President Moon of South Korea. He over anyone else deserves that peace prize.

The only thing Trump has done is threaten “FIRE AND FURY!”. That doesn’t deserve a peace prize.

I think we can all agree that anyone else who wins it would be over the Moon.

I think this is one of those things were people take credit for stuff that happens around them, and Trump is most definitely the sort of person who will do that at every available opportunity as he yearns for approval at all times.

Things in America certainly haven't unravelled in a way some people thought (hoped?) they would. I mean like here unemployment is just nothing, even when a quick look below the surface reveals stagnant/low wages. Any political leader is going to take credit for that when they're presiding over it.

Exactly, the only hand Trump had in getting this to happen was by threatening to destroy North Korea. He would have been happier with a war, i guarantee it.

He didn't hire notorious warmonger John Bolton as his National Security Chief for nothing. :slol:

I'm not saying Trump deserves the credit nor the peace prize. But he has seemingly played a part here, that much is undeniable I think, in a situation which could genuinely make the world a better place.

Everyone involves deserves credit, including Kim Jong Un.

I just can't abide hypocrites and people who care more about which side they're on than the issues themselves. I find trump revolting, but I'm grateful that this has taken place and have to applaud the man if he has contributed to it. The problem with politics is that lines are drawn before an issue is even discussed, and it lead to this infuriating perpetual limbo of nothingness. If people cared more about getting things done, than defending their side and attacking the 'opposition' maybe we'd make.more progress as a society.

Other than angry tweets, what has he done?

If Trump has done something other than threatening tweets, then fair enough. Otherwise he’s just the same bullying buffoon that he always is.

I’m happy to give him credit if he does something good. I just don’t think tweeting “FIRE AND FURY” should give him any credit, even if that was the direct catalyst for North and South Korea to start talking.

The trouble with giving Trump false credit (we’ve not seen anything to show he deserves any) is it feeds the ego of a megalomaniac. And feeding that ego based on the childish threats he made may well not end well for all of us the next time he tries it.

America will help rebuild North Korea's economy if it agrees to give up its nuclear weapons, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said.

The US would be "prepared to work with North Korea to achieve prosperity on the par with our South Korean friends", he told reporters on Friday.

Mr Pompeo, who has just returned from Pyongyang, said he had "good" talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Mr Kim and President Donald Trump will meet in Singapore on 12 June.

The two leaders, who had previously exchanged insults and threats, made the announcement after landmark talks between North and South Korea in April.

Pompeo's just gonna ignore all the concentration camps, then? Cool.
