This could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I can't see these territories allow this to carry on. Imagine getting that notification popping up on your phone like that!

I wonder if the fact that the US never shoots these missiles down is down to the technology not being reliable enough and they don't want China and Russia to know this in case it fails.

As lucien said they've shot a missile over Japan before but I think this one landed closer to Japan. Also it's only a matter of time until something goes wrong and one lands in Japan.

I'm guessing we'll be seeing Trumps chest pounding tweets in a few minutes. I really hope nothing happens although I don't see any way for this situation to end peacefully.

I've got one space left in my nuclear bunker. Enough supplies to last 5 years underground.

Nothing will be done. NK has been left unchecked for far too long and now it's too late to properly do anything about it. Sanctions have been imposed and ignored and they should have been strongarmed long before this.

I read an article saying that they were on the verge of another famine. Some people pegged that it would start this year. If I remember correctly, crop yields are down, they have strawberry float all farm land anyway, and sanctions are hitting them hard.

Really sucks for anyone outside Pyongyang. They are the poorest of the poor.

The problem is that the sanctions aren't working at all, they are just making everything worse.

I agree with you. I cannot see any end to this that doesn't result in casualties in that region of the world. They can't be allowed to fire missiles over countries. And all the chest beating and international dick waving that's going on is not helping.

Apparently, all they want is to be recognised as a nuclear power. So sooner or later the governments will relent; accept that NK is a nuclear power and insist they stop dicking around. NK regime will gleefully accept and live off the victory for decades to come. Meanwhile the people of NK will continue to suffer and the rotw will go on with our lives.
