The most triggered guy on the forum is trying to trigger people?

As for Jim Sterling, ranty as he is, he's only really attempting to tackle an area of modern games, one that needs to be debated, when pretty much every other gaming outlet is choosing instead to ignore it because they're frightened of upsetting AAA publishers.

His debates might be easier to digest if they weren't all "EA/Activision/Unisoft are the devil and need to be eradicated from existance!!" for having completely optional micro transactions.

I have enjoyed his stuff in the past but his podcast made it clear that despite him acting like he doesn't give a strawberry float he cannot take criticism on any level.

But at least he's addressing it though, unlike other games media outlets who continue to grovel at the feet of their publisher overlords.

“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here".

He's not a games media outlet, he's a youtube personality/entertainer

it's entirely unsurprising they take different approaches, in the same way you wouldn't go to Zero Punctuation for an actual balanced game review

Okay, well he's raising the issue whereas the games media, (unless backed into a corner by the community) , go out of their way to ignore it for fear of upsetting the apple cart and being denied their precious review code and toe sucking interviews etc. The gaming press lack any kind of integrity, seemingly acting solely in the interests of the publisher giants, not to their readership. The words "games" and "journalist" should never be used together

Can we please stop all this, and talk about the game? I know the microtransaction debate is a hot topic for some people, but isn't there a thread for that? This game is not a particularly egregious example, but the thread has lately been dominated by discussion of Jim Sterling, and is now descending into petty attacks.

Yep fair enough Rinks, there is a thread dedicated to the MT debate.

In defense of everyone here, however, there was only really one person here dishing out petty attacks and he has already openingly admitted that his sole purpose was to troll the thread.

But you're quite right. Let's leave it there.

Can't imagine why Photek would take issue with Jim Stirling...

...but I am going to chuckle at that before I bail on the thread.

Well that explains everything. Jim Sterling upset the fanboy.

(Hexx can therefore resist buying the game! Well done chums!)

From a quick glance at some gameplay videos, the HUD looks very spartan (geddit? spartan!) with not much going on. Should be fine for you.

It saddens me that the last few pages were full of silly arguments instead of giving me the recognition and acclaim I deserve for the above pun.

Shame on you all :capnscotty:

He ruined it by drawing attention to it in the post.
Reposting it is just sad and desperate.

You'd know all about being sad and desperate, eh Hexx? ;)

In all seriousness, I was merely trying to change the subject from the tedium of Jim Sterling/microtransactions.

Mission accomplished 8-)

What does Jim Sterling think about microtransactions?

Ten hours in, and I still haven't left Kephallonia.

There's a special DLC Pack that teleports you immediately to the next region with all the quests and missions in Kephallonia instantly 100% completed. It's called the "May as well watch a movie instead" pack and costs £34.99.

Ha, don’t start! I’m doing it this way because I like it.

I always spend too long in the starting area, thoroughly exploring everything. But in a world as large as this, I soon have to let that go once I venture further, or I’ll get nowhere. I will tidy up later, though.

Anyway, I’m ocean-bound now, heading for my first regional war. There’s... quite a bit to do.

I was dubious about Exploration mode, as I love the classic AC formula, but it’s great now I’ve got used to it.
