My favourite reveal method has to be marketing people photographed working on a game while on public transport.

I still really want an Assassins Creed game either set in the modern era, or set way way back during the time of the First Civilisation at the time of the human uprising.

I'm hoping the "fly mythical beasts" part is more in a similar way to Origins i.e weird dream sequence. I don't want to be trotting around ancient Greece, then my horse starts flying around.

I'm happy with this.

Origins was fantastic (close to Black Flag and ACIII in my eyes - I've got a bit of a softspot for ACIII).

Conversly, I want a bit more modern day / First Civilisation stuff in there. I thought Origins was a bit of a missed opportunity in this regard. You stumbled across First Civilisation temples and Bayek was a bit "meh" about it. It really should have driven the plot - there should have been a deeper connection between the Hidden Ones and the First Civilisation, in my opinion. May be Odyssey will rectify this.

The rumour in the OP said it would be set during the Flavian dynasty, which is approximately 50AD to 100AD (100-150 years after Bayek).

Flying mythical beasts doesn’t really fit with that (unless like you said it is in a dream sequence) as we have a decent knowledge of history from Rome/Greece in that era and know that mythical beasts weren’t wandering around. Either the rumours are not quite correct, or this is going to be a mental game.

You say that, but there was the bizarre Final Fantasy (I think) extra part in Origins, where you got a robotic sword and some kinda weird yellow big bird ostrich monstrosity  .

This makes me wish that Origins had been set two thousand years earlier, in real Ancient Egypt (none of this Ptolemaic pseudo-Egyptian nonsense), so that anything involving mythical beasts wouldn't necessarily interfere with, you know, established history. It'd also mean that games set in Babylon, Hattusa, Nineveh and Troy would all be possible.

Yeah that could’ve been awesome.

When I saw the name “Odyssey” I was hoping it’d be a game set amongst the Trojan War. :datass:

He's an Ubisoft creation, it's probably the highlight of his week.

From the main page this title is shorted to 'Next AC confirmed to be'.

Got me excited for a new Animal Crossing :(

It says this new one will be set during the Flavian dynasty, so Bayek will be well over 100 years old if he is in it. ;)

A 100 year old Bayek could strawberry float you up.

Do Ubisoft still have multiple teams working on AC?

Wasn't expecting another AC till next year, I haven't completed Origins yet but of what I've played it's a brilliant return to form just hope Ubisoft don't milk it too much again.

Mario already had the word "Odyssey" in a title. This is just a rip off.

There needs to be a cut scene where the protagonist throws his hat or helmet at someone like a frisbee.
