I don't think any of them have BBC deals, correct me if I'm wrong, so there's no contractural tie to the bbc so it's just down to what they want to do. Whilst Paul and Mary have said that they won't leave the BBC before we've seen many people make similar statements and then change their minds. They've been silent since this announcement.

When did they make the comments as I'm pretty sure not too long ago Paul was doing shows for Good Food or something, Mary I think has been mainly BBC but Paul may get her to come over, Mel and Sue need to go as its basically their only job.

I do feel the BBC is being a bit dim recently with big pull names, they let Top Gear die on its arse by not mkaing a formula to match the presenters, Attenborough seems to do more for Sky than the BBC, F1 was awesome on the BBC and they cocked it.

They just seem to have no idea what they are doing and all the stuff that people really like they are ignoring.

The BBC had a decade or more of people moaning that they pay the big stars too much, that they rely on star names etc etc.

They can't win either way. If they had offered more than Channel 4 you would have people moaning about the costs.

Yeah they would, personally I don't see what is wrong with paying more, it is how it all works and if you want the talent / shows you gots to pay. At this rate because of people bitching and moaning about "them wasting my money" they will have very little of value as they wont be able to get anything or any one.

I think the license fee is incredible value when you compare it to say the Netflix sub, Sky, Virgin etc. I would be happy to pay more if it meant they had the money to keep their shows at the best they can and should be.

Except the people who hold the purse strings (the government) don't want a BBC that does that.

I wonder if Mel, Sue, Paul or Mary will make this list: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37365718

I think it is more Love that are the spanners for thinking they ca move the show and boost their money and not think that maybe they should consult with the presenters and judges.

They get paid either way, though. Channel 4 have paid tens of millions for a strawberry floating tent.

I would be very surprised if they dont have a clause that says the current team needs to stay.

So what happens with three of the team having announced they won't be making the trip over? Contract cancelled? Surely LP would have made C4 aware that LP couldn't guarantee the team joining them in the move.

Depends how daft / arrogant they are. Bake off is those 4 they make it work. Love may have gotten way big headed and felt they wanted more and bugger the bbc we will have it and maybe felt that the presenters are not employed by bbc they are us they will follow us.

Channel 4 will have to get the cheque book out in a big way of they want to bring Hollywood over and try and salvage the last remnant of the show.

I don't think it takes much to tempt Hollywood away from prior commitments...

From what little I have seen of the show, I got the feeling Hollywood wasn't all that impressed with Mel and Sue. Like maybe he thought the show would be better off being presented *and* judged by him? Gonna be real interesting to see what he does now!
