I would be if I didn't have a massive backlog of other lengthy RPGs to start.

Persona 5 is next up.

Yes! Me! Basically all I'm playing at the moment.

It sure is more Octopath. There are some noticeable changes - not least of which, instead of having to grind I'm finding myself consistently overlevelled. :slol: The other big change though is the writing. Everyone, at this stage, is good. There's no Ophelia or (spits) Ha'anit to foul the pack. Those are the real differences so far: I'm not finding that the combat tweaks, the day-night system, or even the crossovers are doing anything material to change or improve the game. Still a real risk that I get to the end (bobbins superboss aside) and get annoyed because they haven't bothered to tie everything together.

And there are still unskippable random battles. :x

I've started with Castti and I'm loving it so far. I don't really mind any random battles myself, I just think of it as extra exp

I played the original and mostly completed it except for one sideboss that I gave up on in the end because of it being insanely hard. Hopefully if I find one like that again in this one I'll be prepared!

Ah heck, I'm no longer overlevelled. This is what happens when you decrease the frequency of encounters. I still don't think they've got the encounter rate/exp required right, erring on the side of too frequent or grinding required. Not a fan.

Can you turn off the voice acting in this? It’s one of the things I don’t like about the original, Triangle Strategy and Live A Live.

You can turn it to Japanese, I haven't checked turning it off entirely. I like the little Japanese yabberings.

Trying to resist buying it at full price, but getting the itch to dive in even though I’m in the middle of a Breath of the Wild re-run.

Is the music as good as the first?

Just seen this. Yes it is. Everything here is basically 'as good as the first', and so far nothing is much better. Possibly the job system is worse.

The dancer is definitely worse. What started out as a light-hearted break from endless revenge and treachery becomes a load of twee crap. Shame, especially since Primrose was probably the best character in the original.

Just got round to starting this. Two excellent stories so far that has me interested. Who needs perfect looking realism when you get stories like this

Also shout out to the OST which so far is brilliant.

I've been watching my son play this on his Switch.

It's absolutely gorgeous.

I had hopes that it was coming to Game Pass (like the first one), but that doesn't seem to be a thing now.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

125 hours later I’ve finished. Done the extra missions and most of the side quests especially those with mega bosses. Final boss was a twat
