About time!

Sainz could drive for Aston or Mercedes in the next season.

I wonder if Ferrari would've asked Sainz to pull over and let Leclerc through had it not been for the SC...

Alonso demoted to 8th. Looked like a clear brake test from the onboard footage from Russel's car.

Watching this now, even without Verstappen, it’s still a dire race, Sainz is just in Verstappen’s position without the huge race pace advantage Verstappen has. This is where Perez just looks poor, he should be winning, but he’s down in 7th.

Just under 20 laps to go though.

Edit, it’s borderline criminal that Sainz is being booted from Ferrari, I get why they’re getting Hamilton for a couple of years, but Sainz is really showing his worth in my opinion.

Edit, big crash for Russell. Seeing that Alonso was penalised? Did he brake check Russell into a very quick corner?

It wasn't that he was brake checking George but more that he was driving unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner which could be deemed potentially dangerous

Perez has no pace without drs - there is always a mysterious problem that manifests and explains why he can’t make time in the fastest car on the grid

It has been clearly demonstrated time and again that car in clean air can make at least 1 second a lap on literally anyone else

It was clear Verstappen had a problem when the lead went from around 8 tenths, to 2 tenths in one corner.

Perez really needed a podium at the minimum today and he was nowhere near.

It's a good job red bull have a great second driver to pick up wins when Verstappen...oh.

Was in no way a good race, but seeing a red bull retiring gave me life. Drivers table is very tight on points at this time, although I still expect Verstappen to win every race he finishes this year.

The first grand prix weekend in over a decade I watched absolutely nothing of. No practice, qualifying or race.

Why do you think this is? Is it a regulations problem? One driver shouldn't be able to front run the race into oblivion irrespective of their vehicle.

A chunk of it has to be down to dirty air, which these regulations were meant to help solve, but I think Sainz just had everyone covered yesterday, extreme weight saving by having his appendix out

If Verstappen’s rear brake didn’t lock on, Verstappen would have been even further ahead than Sainz was at a few moments.

Wasn't a great race at the weekend, but enjoyed seeing a different driver win, and enjoyed seeing no points for either Mercedes.
Alonso's penalty seems like bullshit, but we know the stewards don't do consistency or logic, so in that way it's no surprise.

I still love watching this. It just screams of me playing all my racing games on easy mode as a kid though

I would love to see Portugal brought back, it had some great overtaking opportunities.
