Nintendo released a truly innovative product with the Wii that on paper was a massive gamble - but it worked. 5 years later and MS is forcing Kinect into every non Halo/Gears game, whilst Sony is adding Move to some games. They are not doing it because its right for the games, they are doing it because they think that is what made Nintendo successful.

Two gooseberry fool conferences. I hope that Nintendo come to the stage and show off some magical hardware and stunning software that is new and relevant. They were first in the industry, they have to set an example
Now its time for Nintendo to start taking names and save video games!

I'm most likely going to miss out on the unveiling of cafe. I'll most likely be in traffic shouting "wankers!"

''Saying it's because I was controlling you and making you sad when actually I just asked you to wear some trousers''

It could have been their cunning plan all along:

Wii: get a large user base whilst making a profit
Cafe: unite the Wii 'casual' user base with the Call of Duty generation

Pretty strawberry floating smart if you ask me, but obviously not intended. The 'pretty strawberry floating smart' bit comes if they do announce some killer 3rd party titles & hardware this afternoon to win back the 'adult' gamers (I refuse to use the term hardcore to refer to Call of Duty etc. players)

Really hope they announce a messaging system for the 3DS.

Wonder if 3DS can be used as an extra controller.

If they show off some first party titles and at least 5 hardcore games of major franchises, then it means they have made a good start.

Its possible the Project Cafe controller will be the new Portable Nintendo console. They have to fight the threat of irrelevance caused by the smartphone market. Tying together Project Cafe with the controller in some way is one way to do that. Looking at the PS Vita maybe this is continuing games in some way on the portable unit. I don't know but the innovation will be in this area.

So what's everyone secretly hoping for?

Me?

1. On-par visuals with current 360 games (anything better is a bonus)
2. The ability to play DVD's and/or Blu-Rays i.e. games not on some un-standardised format (think GC Disks)
3. A 'media centre' feature to allow me to plug in my external HD to watch things
4. Gamertags
5. Cheaper controllers (doubtful with the touch screen malarkey)

Steam support on some level would be a massive, big, huge, strawberry floating incredible bonus.

Unfortunately, I doubt any of these will really happen except 1, 2 & 4.

I would like to see,

Console with 2gb Ram and a clear step up from 360/PS3, delivering native 1080p at 60fps.
Proper online gaming, hopefully Steam
Controllers with two analogue sticks
Open world follow up to Mario 64 at launch, none of the gravity bollocks, big sprawling open world with no waggle.
New Zelda as above for 2013.
Starfox
Waverace

Not much to ask really :shifty:

I want a new Yoshi game.

Yoshi's Story was 13 years ago. People were moaning in other threads that we have to wait 5 years or so for another console Zelda game. Well I've been waiting thir-teen damn years to guff out next-gen eggs.

Dr Kelso wrote:I only play Pac-Man and that car-jack game. There's nothing quite like scoring a caddy and mowing down street hos.
