The only way Nintendo can now lose E3 is if they announce that Project Cafe is 2-3 times more powerful than the Gamecube.

Nothing beats the anticipation of a new home console reveal, what are the chances of a follow up to Mario 64?

Well, after the absolute stinkers from MS and Sony all Nintendo have to do to come out on top is turn the stage lights on.

Anyone got a link to a reliable stream? I'm normally content just reading through the threads on here and Neogaf, but if the rumour of a new console is true, I reckon both are going down during the conference :(

It's not a rumour, Nintendo have confirmed it.

I'm still waiting for Super Mario 128, dammit. I want to run around on a Monopoly board!

I want to see some big name third party multi-platform games revealed for Café; Mass Effect 1-3, Modern Warfare 3, GTA, Darksiders, Red Faction, that kinda thing. If they really do want to win over the core crowd they'll need all the big guns on their side. Oh and that rumoured new Zelda that isn't Skyward Sword, that would be good too. Hasn't there been a Zelda HD Collection featuring Wind Waker rumoured too? A HD port of that (not WW DX; I know that can't happen now) would be spectacular.

Yes. Use the GameTrailers or official Nintendo one in the OP.

I'll be using the Nintendo one. It was pretty solid last year.

Thanks for the answers guys.

So, where abouts did Nintendo specifically say "we are unveiling a new console at E3 this year"? They are working on one yes - not questioning that - but as they haven't mentioned anything specifically about E3 (afaik), I'm still happy to consider it a rumour to avoid utter disappointment. They'd be stupid not to unveil it today of course, but I'm just justifying my use of the word 'rumour'.

They said they'll be unveiling it at this E3 when they confirmed that the Wiis successor will be out next year.

It's not a rumour. They confirmed it in an official press release.

Wasn't it stated in their end of year financial report? I don't have a link but I'm pretty sure that was the case.

They issued a press release at their last investor's meeting.

Rubix wrote:I hardly play my Wii now and the same happened with the gamecube.

Nintendo release some fantastic games but once they are done with the rest of the software doesn't keep me entertained.

I believe the same will happen with whatever they release next, there will be a wow factor but a year into having the console we will all be in the same situation.

The 3DS hasn't done well because it was released to early at a high price and a poor selection of games, for their new console to do well it really needs to be bundled with something like Mario.

I've had the same experience with my Gamecube and Wii, although GC lasted a lot longer. It's so annoying that 3rd party's always seem to just abandon Nintendo consoles. :x
