I was certainly disappointed by the conference. The Zelda 25th Anniversary stuff went on forever, I couldn't see much in the 3DS trailers to get me to buy one any time soon, and there's simply not enough for me to get as excited over Wii U as the rest of the world appears to be yet. The actual presentation of the console was handled really badly, I thought.

Looking back a lot of people wanted something along the lines of a gamecube 2 with to me would have been the exact same thing as the wii u but with out the wii stuff making the console even less relivant than some say it is now.

I'm sure the wii did the same thing. Give it a year after launch and the stocks will probably be the highest in years.

Stage demos are awful. I don't want to see some lucky twat playing a game I want to play and playing it badly.

They're better than edited trailers set to music if they show off actual gameplay actually being played.

Also don't forget that it's hard for Nintendo to do Stage Demos. 3DS screen is 3D so that doesn't work and also remember when Skyward Sword was being demo'd? The wi-fi in the room messes with the Wiimotes and I remember people complaining about that last year.

They've demoed Wii games before last year. 3DS games could also be demoed on stage so long as there were booths for the journalists too, like last year. Just because it wouldn't be able to show 3D doesn't mean you can't show a game looking good and playing well.

The Zelda demo could have been demoed on stage. It would have created a better buzz surrounding the whole thing in my head at the time.

When is this coming out? I have no idea but I would guess very soon right?

Because with this strange controller I can assume they are trying to get in on the popular IPAD market hype. This will make the people who got the wii for its "magic wand" want to get the Wii U for its "IPAD" screen. Its actually really smart, I bet the hardcore gamers will hate it, but I bet tons of casuals will buy this.

So they wouldnt want to wait to long, and if they are sucessful, cant wait to see what Sony and Microsoft do

You honestly have no idea what you're talking about do you.

This is Nintendo's way of innovating current gen games and I'm very impressed by it as a hardcore gamer. It is really smart and yes it can be used for casual gaming, but look at what it can do for the likes of zelda! No more annoying UI on screen, everything on your controller just like the DS has with it's two screens.

They may be aiming towards the PS3 and 360 market, but that controller is for the the people who have wii fit etc etc etc. They are not dumb enough to say to themselves "Hardcore gamers clearly like gimmicks! So lets make one!" I mean they could make it work for hardcore gamers, I cant see into the future but by looking at kinnect, move and the wii remote, I doubt it.
