I'm glad I'm not paying the £7 asking price for that sweatband, let's put it that way. The Raccoon Police sticker is actually an iron-on transfer, which I suppose is kinda decent if you want to risk it.

But yeah, not quite the 'free' gifts I had in mind. Issue itself looks good however.

Yeah, the sweatband is quite something :slol: . "Something" being... awful! I was hoping that the Resident Evil cover would have been a gatefold type like last month's fantastic Just Cause 4 cover. Never mind; there are 22 pages of Resi goodness inside so hopefully that will please Resi fans!

Ouch at that 5 for Starlink
I thought it had generally reviewed better than that.

Only when there's free gifts. The fact the price of the magazine goes up those months is just sheer coincidence.

In terms of sales, has this multiplayer COD actually worked out for Activision or has it been a bust?

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by that; it's certainly one of the harsher reviews that I've seen. I have the Switch version and it does seem that the exclusive StarFox stuff adds quite a lot to the game; perhaps that is impacting the game on other formats. OPM mention "pay to win" which I can kind of see - you can pay for physical / digital ships to use as extra lives, and purchase additional weapons. I've not played enough yet to give an overall verdict, but, personally, I like it so far!

Possibly not, KK - the next issue is hitting shelves on 18 December and, with the Classic launching in early December, there *may* not be enough lead time to say too much about it. We'll see! The "free gift" next month is a "Playstation Classic poster", though.

It'd be cool if Sony still have the old 1995 retail posters (which I would imagine they do), then they could recreate them. Or any retro poster, at that. Just scan it, clean it up, and Bob's your aunty.

Obviously I've only played with the Star Fox content which does add to the game, but even without it 5 seems overly harsh (not that I've read the review). "Pay to win" seems a silly argument to make against a game that a) isn't multiplayer (apart from local co-op) and b) is easy to beat with only the starting equipment anyway!

Starlink has a Metacritic of 77 (Xbox, 12 reviews), 74 (Switch, 62 reviews) and 70 (PS4, 16 reviews). OPM's 5 (50) is the lowest score noted on the PS4 format and, across all formats, only two outlets rated it lower than that.

Pretty ridiculous score for BLOPs, especially as I read a snippet that they said it feels like a relic compared to Destiny 2. The multiplayer in BLOPS is far, far superior to Destiny.

*Edit* The competitive multiplayer.

I remember scoffing at the Official Playstation Magazine back in 1996 when it was a fiver, and it came with a strawberry floating demo disc and was often 200+ pages.

Turns out those were the days...

It certainly was a cool mag then, Db... although £5 in 1996 is equivalent to £8.92 today. The newer mag is disc-less, a wee bit smaller but cheaper :-).

You got any pics of that by any chance? In the previous thread you said it was quite awesome.
