Winstone, the actor famed for playing a string of tough-guy roles in films such as Sexy Beast, said he is disenchanted with the country because - among other reasons - its criminal justice system is too lenient on offenders.

Winstone said: "It breaks my heart to think about leaving the country but I hate what's been done to it. Kids on the streets in gangs with knives, all this lawless behaviour and what are we doing? Nothing."

In an interview with Live Magazine, the actor also criticised the NHS, adding: "I see people going into hospital and coming out worse with MRSA."

He also said he resented the country's tax system. He said: "You work your **** off and they give you a big kick in them," adding that in politics, voters were faced with a choice of "****** number one Gordon Brown and ****** number two David Cameron. No thank you."

He added: "I wouldn't mind if we actually see something being done with all the money they take off in taxes. But I don't see more police ... what I see is no one on the streets and then a legal system that doesn't support the coppers when things finally get to court. There are criminals getting off every day in this country.

"It's just not that great any more, is it? Let's be honest. This country isn't going to the dogs. It's gone to the dogs. We're a mess. And do I really want to live in this mess any more? I feel bad saying it but I'm just not sure."

Not really. You just replace one set of twats with another and so long as plebs have the vote Labour are still in with a chance of staying in power.

I disagree with the whole system and I think it needs a reform.
