An idea for a forum game just popped into my head.

One Man's Spy...

Instead of thinking it through and carefully planning it over a number of days, I have decided to just go for it and initiate sign ups. There will be:

Betrayal
Death
Glory

It might be atrocious. It might not work properly. I'm still figuring out the details.

I expect it to last between 5-7 days. The daily time commitment should be fairly light.

I need 15 players. And if you sign up, I need you to prepare for the possibility that you might need to be a proper sneaky bugger.

I'll aim to start either Monday coming or next, depending on how quickly we get 15 players and if I can thrash out what else needs sorting.

It's a strategy game that will pit three teams of five against each other. One team will win. Two teams will lose.

As a fair warning to both potential players and observers: this game is not going to be an entertaining watch from the side lines.

Each team will be carrying out actions in secret, amongst themselves, attempting to outwit the other two teams.

There will be some in-thread action, but I expect it to be quite lean, with most of the action taking place behind the scenes.

What's the time commitment likely to be for this? Sounds intriguing but don't want to get involved if me not being available 24/7 is going to screw my team

The cautious uptake has removed any urgency, so I've not rushed to finalise the details, however I have realised this can operate very much as a turn-based game. So we won't be constrained either way by a daily schedule.

Teams will want to be careful about how they use their turns, so I would encourage a group consensus via PM, and within reason this can be allowed in a way that accommodates people with a range of availabilities. So, for example, no one will ruin things for their team or miss out on contributing just because they weren't around between a specific set of deadlines.

Obviously, if this gets ridiculous I will move things along, so don't take this as an option to go AWOL for days at a time!
