Champion Road :dread: :dread: :dread:

I still haven't completed that, or the star challenge level next to it.

Just felt the need to come in and say I my son has a wii u and its frigging awesome. We've been playing it almost non stop since yesterday. I've only bought him mario kart and super mario 3d world as I don't want him having too many games like his 3ds where he now hardly touches any of them. I will get a little practice in with MK8 and then see if I can join in on your mk dates.

It's a great console. These two games look lovely. The game pad is a strange decision but I'm liking it. However I do think it makes it a little harder for the young kids who usually like the mario games to get into to and may be off putting for non gaming parents.

On the topic of remastered games I would love to see mario 64 but I suspect that they will go for more recent games as they must be easier to put a HD shine across.

I would like a 1080 Avalanche remaster, but that won't happen. I suspect a big hitter like Mazza Sunshazza will be it, but then we've had a lot of Mario lately, so ... what else ... Zelda Twilight? Or even Eternal Darkness HD   :slol:

The biggest argument against Mario 64 is the fact that they already did it relatively recently with Mario 64 DS.

On the subject of Champions Road, I haven't beat it either. The beatbox section :dread:

King Kaliente is going to come in here and mock us all.

Welcome, 'STAR & Son, to Image. Good to hear that you're enjoying the system - you picked two cracking games to start out with!

As for the mysterious HD remake, I'd be real keen to see Zelda Skyward Sword return in glossier clothing. Arriving at the tail-end of the Wii period it was perhaps missed by many folk. I know that a minority of people didn't rate it but I love the game (even though I've never made it past one of the earlier bosses :fp:) .

If only this could be true, bear! The Table Tennis part of Resort still stands as one of my all-time favourite video games.

I don't think that I've even made it that far in a single run. I've definitely never even hit the halfway flag :fp: It's definitely a lot harder than the 3D Land equivalent. One day...

RE: remakes. Make new games! If something has to be remade, remake F-Zero GX to test the waters for F-Zero U. Be sure to include Miiverse support so that people can compare lap times. Failing that, the Prime Trilogy U would go down well.

EDIT: @Jawa, SS is my favourite Zelda game ever so you should definitely put some time into it to get further. The controls are just

Re-releasing a Wii game would be disappointing considering you can play them on the U anyway. Metroid Prime Trilogy might be an exception due to its rarity.

Still no word from Ubi about Watch Dogs. It must be nearing completion (and probably is already complete). The last stories indicated that they were waiting for a larger user base.

The Wii U release schedule isn't exactly bursting at the moment... surely, if they're gonna release it, it has to be soon? I've still got a hope that it'll be an "Ultimate" edition complete with the add-on content - and with additional Gamepad-specific functionality. But I guess that's unrealistic.

Still got my pre-order placed, though.

Looking forward to Ubisoft citing Watch Dogs' single-figure sales when shelving their mysterious unreleased game.

Yep, that's pretty much my reasoning behind the Prime Trilogy. Plus it would be a good way to show Nintendo that we want Prime 4 U.

My understanding on watch dogs was that the game was complete and they were simply waiting for a larger user base to release it. Which says to me that it will never be released. Howeve my opinion is if the game really is finished for the wii u then why not make it available direct from ubisoft only. That way they can either be made to order or just produce a small quanity and sell on their website or via the Nintendo website. Surely all the costs are in making the game not copying them to a DVD?

I can't remember exact details but actually to make a return on a cross format release a large amount of budget has to go into exhibition and marketing, and they have to not only make that back but make back a profit on that too, so the same funds could be used elsewhere eg to just push the other formats.

Their engine probably covers the bulk of the cross format support, the engine probably already compiles for different formats etc, it is just optimisation and tweaking. My guess is the cost of release outweighed the cost of porting, and with little sales prospects in sight the judgment moves into damage control. Ie don't bother or just wait.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Not especially. Better than most of it's vintage.

Numerous better these days, though. But then the actual arcade version itself was pretty lacking.
