Well, I tried again to buy it via smartglass in the middle of a meeting and it worked! :)

Looking forward to it, I know next to nothing about it also. :D

Could you expand on this?

Because I'll never get these..

Complete the whole game without using an Ability Point
Complete whole game without dying

Buying games for achievements :fp:

Do you often contemplate the complexity of life?

I enjoy collecting trophies/achievements but to not buy or dislike a game because it has difficult ones is mad.

What a wee gem of a game. Just pure

Animation and music are top notch. Has a kind of Child of Light feel about it. But without the 'rhyming'.

Opening was ruined by the big stupid voice. Would have worked better with no text.

Anyway, I really love this. Performance issues are disappointing, but I can overlook that.

perhaps i was a bit harsh and take it back. its just that i think when you put achievements in games, they should be erm..... achievable by all.

I remember borrowing this garbage off a work mate back in the day as it had the easiest 1000g ever.

I regretted it as soon as i was done with it. I still enjoy going for achievements/trophies if it's fun to do so but i'd rather play a good game with impossible achievement points than a bad game full of easy ones these days.

I haven't had chance to play Ori yet but i think it looks amazing.

The frame rate takes some frequent dives when a lot's happening. I should really have bought the PC version, but I needed something to pad out my Xbox One library a little.

I noticed 1 dip in frame rate so far but it was more of a glitch I think cos ran last same are a few times (looking for keystone) and it didn't happen again.

Apparently the PC version has some framerate and stuttering issues too. I'm probably gonna go for the Xbox version myself.

Moon Studios Dev talks about the potential future of Ori on GAF -

Now that quite a few people here have finished Ori and the Blind Forest (our Tech Team is currently working on a patch that should fix all the issues that have been reported to us, so that everyone can enjoy their experience), let's maybe talk about the future a bit :)

At Moon Studios, we're very proud of the world we created and we've been talking about what we'd like to do for a sequel - Note that this in no way means that we're working on a sequel at this point, we're just starting to do our Post Mortems and start figuring out what we could potentially do for a sequel and whether or not a sequel would actually make sense for us.

As I said before, I think we do have a bit of a 'Super Mario Galaxy' situation going on at Moon - We initially prototyped so many ideas, created levels and left quite a bit on the cutting room floor, simply because these ideas didn't fit into the game anymore, but they'd definitely still be very interesting to explore.

So, let me just ask directly:

What are the 3 things you'd like to see us do if we'd make a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest?

I think we're always very attentive when it comes to hearing feedback from everyone, the entire Moon Studios Team is reading through every single comment on every single forum (Hell, I'm even using google translate to read what people on spanish / italian websites, etc. have to say :D) and we're incredibly pleased with the response we got for Ori, but we obviously always want to improve as a studio and create even better games than the ones we made before.

If we'd ever decide to make a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest, our goal should be to turn it into what Super Mario Bros. 3 was to the original Super Mario Bros or what A Link to the Past was to the original Zelda. We're not interested in just churning out another Ori at all - if we do it, I can promise you guys that we'll again try to do the absolute best we can do to give you guys an experience that's remarkable and amazing.

Having said all that, fire away, we'd love to hear your feedback! :)

Just started this. Stunningly beautiful game with more than a hint of Metroid about it (always a good thing in my book). Nice to see the 'low%' and no death challenges in there too.

Can see myself wanting to do a guide for this game as it seems like it deserves one.

And done at 99% (there's 2 bits hidden I just can't see a way to get to and cba to guide it), 7 hours (that can't include deaths/retries) and 477 ( :shifty: ) deaths.

Lovely game. Stunning visuals, sound, gameplay and emotive simply story combine in a real special package.

I only really went and backtracked before the last area, so my power/life/enery went up massively - don't know how I'd have done the last temple without all the health and half damage. The world's actually really connected when you can unlock the short cuts (after the wind especially).

Loved every minute of it. I can't believe some people are insane to go for the "do it without dying" achievement.

Everything from 1 minute

More info from the Dev on GAF -

Most of our Tech guys were still super busy on the patch and the design team is busy testing the current builds - There's a lot of good stuff happening there and the patch should be released very, very soon.

Apart from interviews, post mortems, etc., I'm also dabbling around with a few prototypes. There are 5 potential things we have in the oven right now (spanning from smaller to _huge_ projects) and I'd love to talk about these games, but as usual, we have to keep things secret for a while longer. We like a good secret as much as the next guy ;) Some other people just came back from their well-deserved vacations, so I think it's all good :)

We also started acquiring some new talent and I'm super excited to see them do work for us. I think a lot of people are really interested in our way of working, the 'virtual office' kinda thing, etc. - and I think a lot of people are just super hungry to work on passion projects instead of doing work on the, without trying to sound disrespectful, 'factory games'.

Business-wise, Ori was already profitable a week after release and Microsoft is super happy, so we'll see about Ori's future :)
