Perfect example from yesterday. I play reaper on attack on Numbani, running away from a reaper and ana on defence. They literally both chased me halfway to the next payload checkpoint (when we were still trying to cap the first point) just to kill me, and then our team captured the point immediately after because they were both off chasing me and not defending.
Then I played another match afterwards on the Egyptian map where the whole enemy team was defending outside the front walls of the second zone. And we had a Genji on our team, but instead of trying and capture the point (forcing them to retreat) he decided to just try and kill people outside the front. I was using Winston and ended up capturing two thirds of the point on my own just by jumping over the wall.
I'm often surprised by people who are lacking in terms of game sense when playing this. I'm not particularly brilliant in any specific facet of this, (My aim is probably mediocre most of the time) but actually taking the time to think about why you're doing stuff or who you should pick seems to have helped me evolve into a passable player.
I wonder if it's the same on PC, given what I assume is a stronger focus on the lone wolf style that console has had for various reasons over the past decade or so.
