I don't know, haven't played competitive in 2 seasons. Last time I did was high platinum, so probably diamond if I went tryhard

But it happens at any rank, I watch Valkia's stream a lot and sometimes he just gets put on teams where he can play his heart out but still lose.

Playing better makes your team more likely to win, I'm not disputing that, but SOME games are literally unwinnable, and those games feel like a waste of time and make it feel like you have no impact. Similarly some games you will win even if you play like ass, which I don't like either, it also makes it feel like you didn't have any impact.

In Titanfall you can carry teams, but the gun play and team work is incredibly shallow. Lawbreakers plays like a dream because it has Titanfall's mobility and carry potential, but Overwatch's character abilities and team work. It probably won't sell a lot but I'm going to enjoy it while I can :-)

I don't understand why you're complaining about your teammates when you're not playing the mode that takes the most time to balance them. If you think you could climb to diamond easily you should, as you'll be much more likely to be in teams that will work together than you would in Arcade or Quick Play.

Did you guys actually read my post or did you just assume what I wrote?

I'm not complaining about bad players, I'm just explaining why I had grown tired of the game.

The way the game is designed means that one player cannot have a massive impact, be that good or bad, a lot of the time it just feels like you're riding waves, especially as a support player.

In Lawbreakers you actually have the ability to carry your team and it feels wonderful, I miss being able to have a significant impact on the match

It's like a cross between Titanfall, unreal tournament and Overwatch, its pretty sick

Stop saying 'sick'.

Playing this on PC now and loving it, taking a while to get to level 25 though. Too long.

Also I was never bothered by the skin thing but I really want this Mercy skin but I can't see myself getting it, the grind is impossible. I want that Nike one and I want the one of her in he nurses outfit :shifty: but won't be able to get either.

You could say its sick

Btw I kept found this Reddit post and thought it summed up my point of view more eloquently than I did

That doesn't follow. The mechanics of this game reduce individual skill and put an onus on team play that almost no other competitive game has. There are so many mechanics in this game that reduce skill to the point where even someone who isn't very good can get a cheap kill on a good enemy by simply playing a hard counter to them, or just playing one of the many characters where aiming isn't even required. OW requires different types of skill than individual, mechanical skill.

The fact that you can have an amazing game and your enemy wipe the floor with your face is testament to that fact. My best every game as Hog was a loss with 61 hooks and a 69% hook accuracy with a bunch of gold medals. Any other competitive game and a score like that would mean I could carry without too much trouble. But in OW there is only so much an individual can do and the lack of snowballing mechanics mean that even a good player can't skill his way to a win sometimes.

Does that mean OW is a brainless game where skill means nothing? No. It just means that OW requires different types of skills. Organisation and communication are far more important than the ability to just play well. I've had a team of 6 great players lose because of poor communication. A person with a rich CS GO pedigree can't just walk into a high level OW match and have godlike aim and just win the game by ignoring his team. For people like me, that hate our individual contribution being made meaningless, OW kind of is a pain in the ass. For people with great organisational skill the ability to help their team without needing to have great aim must be wonderful. In the end it all balances out.

The fact that one countries team is dominating doesn't change any of that, it does mean they are the best team. Even in a game like Street Fighter 5, where people, pretty much unanimously, agree that the skill lines are kind of wobbly and the game is kind of random there is still a solid top 5 players list that exists with people like Punk and NuckleDu-Dang.

Meanwhile in Lawbreakers I got 2 of the 3 captures our team got, went 17 - 3 and felt like I made a difference.

I havent played for a little while now because the client is a little unstable on my machine which frustrates me, but when I see they put new skins and stuff in I just kneejerk want to play to collect them all. Why I want to collect them is beyond me, because I know I wont play after I have them.

Yeah, the compulsion to play it as some kind of wardrobe stimulator is probably greater than my desire to actually play the game itself.

Oooooh yeah.

Seriously though, I want the Grillmaster 76 bad, but have a measly 1500 creds.

I was hoping the Neogaf/Reddit rumours if the new skins being based in last year's summer game sprays was true. Would've loved this as a skin for Mercy,

This seems a bit drastic. I worry for Peter.

Blizzard is making colossal changes to how Mercy plays. In fact, she could just as well be an all new character.

Available in the latest update to the Public Test Realm, Mercy's entire moveset has changed. Instead of only being able to resurrect players as her ultimate ability, she can now do this signature move as just a regular ability.

To balance this boost, the Resurrect move has been nerfed. Instead of rejuvenating everyone within a 15-meter radius, she can only resurrect a single target within a 5-meter radius. That's still pretty good, you may think, but it's counteracted by a 30-second cooldown.

Her ultimate has thus been replaced with a 20-second boost called Valkyrie that allows her the ability to fly and buffs her other powers, granting extended range to her Guardian Angel dash and both healing and damage boost beams. Better yet, your beams will chain together, allowing them to hit multiple nearby teammates at once. Even her gun is powered up in Valkyrie mode so she can shoot faster and do more damage. If that wasn't devastating enough, Mercy's Resurrect ability will automatically be charged and granted a scant 10-second cooldown upon activating Valkyrie.

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan explained Blizzard's motives for the change in a new update video. Basically he didn't want Mercy players with a charged up ultimate to spend time hiding away from the action, waiting for the perfect time to use it. He also found it frustrating when Mercy could undo a particularly devastating attack in one fell swoop by resurrecting an entire team.
