Buh?

Sorry, edited. I was reading multiple threads at once and I guess I got who I was replying to mixed up.

 See above apology! Please forgive my weird brainfart. I obviously know who you are, Winckle.

As for the rest: sure, I think that's reasonable. For me personally, I think the creep in mobility and CC, and nerfs to Rein (no ult refund, shatter doesn't climb...), justify a fairly large buff. One other suggestion I heard was fortify-on-shield-break. A buff does risk making him oppressive on King's Row, I suppose.

I have this feeling that nerfing the other anchors down to Rein's level might be an inadvertent buff to other heroes (antidive would be even harder without a strong Orisa for instance). But I'm not a pro, I don't think I can theorycraft that kind of butterfly effect meta change! :P

New patch day.

Full notes here https://playoverwatch.com/en-gb/game/pa ... atch-46137

And a graphical showcase of the changes in the spoiler.

If anyone played the Retribution mission during the event, that was on Rialto, the new map.

Nice. Looks like a fun patch. I have my fingers crossed New Hanzo will be more fun to play & less frustrating to play against.

I've only really played death match so far but Hanzo shreds through tanks now, especially Dva

Oh God Competitive is going to be even more infested with people who think they can play Hanzo than it already is.

I've always hated Hanzo but I use Zen and Torb a lot so my projectile skill isn't too bad, I might try and learn Hanzo now, he is very fun to play with his storm arrows and mobility

Well in my defense 90% of the reason I hated him was scatter arrow, and the other 10% was how you'd turn into a turret whenever you charged your bow, but now both of those problems are somewhat alleviated.

Plus since he can melt barriers with storm arrow it means I don't have to play Junkrat now.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Hanzo, like, as an entity. The reason he was completely infuriating was scatter: it was a 100% RNG ability that could have a streak of doing absolutely nothing (frustrating for him and his team) or could have a streak of OHKOing anyone he fired it vaguely near (frustrating for the other team).

New Hanzo might be still frustrating (haven't had a chance to play yet) but I can see it being quite fun. If he's a viable and consistent main DPS now then I don't even care if I get him in every comp game (as long as the rest of the team is balanced...!).

The problem with Hanzo isn't Hanzo himself.
It's everyone who plays him being convinced they're amazing at him when they're actually terrible 99% of the time, but because his Ult makes it insanely easy to get a PotG they think they must be the best Hanzo ever.

I predict that Hanzo's Storm Arrow ability will be nerfed relatively soon, it's so gross in the hands of anyone who has half-decent aim.

Not me, no.

I think it's fine. You have to spam the shots or you may as well charge up a more damaging shot, which means that if your opponent has good movement (sans tanks) you're not going to hit all of your shots.

It's no more op than Zen's secondary fire

Also I feel like Hanzo's ult is one of the worst in the game unless you're in an enclosed corridor or have a Zarya ult to combo with.

Hanzo's ult feels more OP at lower levels, I think? Someone who doesn't know the map very well, or isn't listening out for audio cues, simply won't notice the dragon until it's eating them. A person with better game-sense will be walking a few meters off to the side as soon as they hear "ryuu ga-".

Holy gooseberry fool, leavers were always an issue but god damn, I think I've had more games with leavers than without so far this competitive season.

I also wish you could 'opt out' of skirmish matches....

What format do all you lot play on btw? It'd be fun to get a six stack together for some QP at some point.

PC here. KarlAM#21661 if anyone wants to add me. Usually up for playing in the evenings, particularly Quick Play, but happy to play Competitive with anyone else around my SR (mid-plat).

Everytime I break into gold I get non-stop leavers or people making terrible picks and get shoved back down again :(

The only constant in your games is you. It sucks when you get a run of bad games but it happens to everyone.

Who do you generally play as? Maybe the combined wisdom of the forum ( :shifty: ) could give you some tips.
