I started the game this afternoon and you must have cataracts if you think the game looks stunning. It looks worse than Breath of the Wild and the whole thing looks and feels cheap. Go and climb something and watch at how your character goes through the animation without any real connection to the wall.
The lack of detail and textures make it feel like a teenager's bedroom modding project and the game feels like something from about 2005 (the UI compounds this).
The game very cynically treads the fine line between "being inspired by" and "creatively stealing from". I would imagine that Nintendo won't legally get involved with this for that reason. I guess the developers deserve some credit for stealing ("being inspired by") the best aspects of some very popular titles and merging them together, but it all feels a bit grubby, doesnt it? The game is fairly obviously designed about getting players on grindy, addictive progress treadmills.
The end result so far is a game that strikes me as completely soulless and one that invokes no emotion with me when I play it.
