Get out Jawa! I bet you’d make a fine cook. Everything you need to know is on the net. Indeed, why not start with pancakes!

Had a nice little pancake night with the flat, as usual I've been made the designated flipper since nobody else seems to be able to do it. Had one with honey, one with salted caramel/chocolate spread, a savoury break with a chicken and cheese tortilla (savoury pancakes are sacrilege, hence the use of its savoury cousin) and then finished with the classic lemon and sugar. All in all a splendid spread.

Also managed to convince my Thai flatmate for the second year running that the tradition stems from the noble St. Pancake who used to feed orphans and beggars with simple flatcakes made from eggs, milk and flour before he was killed by the Romans for being a Christian.

Hope everyone enjoyed there pancakes, my partner tried his best and the pancakes were ok but a little bit to think, I gave them 4/10, I ended up going out to have some and they were a 8/10 so I’m very happy but also extremely full!

I had leftover mix but I forgot to put it in the fridge and it went all funky overnight so no extra pancakes today :(

This sounds brutal. Imagine putting effort into making pancakes from scratch for your partner, only for them to go out and buy some because yours weren't good enough

I'm sure it wasn't quite like that :P

It was exactly like that, but I did have my heart set on going out for some mainly because I knew they would make me some especially off menu and I have not been there for a few weeks

I went with the Hairy Bikers recipe I linked to in the first post but I added two extra egg whites I had left in the fridge so they were extra fluffy.

Light as a feather and very, very tasty. Great success.

Mine were decent, but I don't think I chose the right pan as it didn't swirl around easily enough so they were pretty uneven. Went for classic lemon and sugar. I usually make american style ones, but always have the English style on pancake day.

I went for two classic sugar and lemon pancakes, and then the third was banana and chocolate ice cream. Yummy!

I haven’t had pancakes on Jif Lemon Day for years now. I am going to make an effort next year.

I'd give myself a solid 8/10 for last nights pancakes, room for improvement but nobody was disappointed!

Annoyingly I couldn't find the lightweight pan I usually use for doing them so I had to use a beast of a frying pan with a solid base - thing weighed an absolute tonne which made flipping somewhat challenging! Still manged it though. :datass:

My partner has redeemed himself and made some really nice pancakes today exactly to my taste, I later found out that he rang my parents on holiday to ask my mum how I like them!

Excellent. I do hope this means you won't further punish him and will allow him to join you to eat in the main dining room
