Dominoes is great if I'm feeling in the mood for a Chocolate Lava Crunch Cake, Papa John's is pretty good but it doesn't come with anything special that marks it out (well, maybe that garlic butter dip...), Donatos is a bit more pricey but it's some of the god damn best pizza I've ever had. Sooo, on the basis of which isn't the worst, Donatos is the best.

Oh my God, that thing is the biggest strawberry floating monstrosity ever to hit plastic. Totally inedible.

Totally agree. I've had pappa johns once. Thought the pizza was alright then tried a bit with the garlic dip :x still can't get the taste out of my mouth. This was about two years ago.

Dominos is the best for me takeaway wise.

Dominoes are easily the best IMO, just don't go plain. Pizza Hut isn't really my cup of tea these days. A guy at work who used to work there told me that the bases are brought in frozen, then they use a pump to squirt oil on it. One squirt for small, Two for medium etc.

+1 for Domino's.

I tried Pizza Hut once and I swear it was no better than a supermarket's own budget frozen effort; dry, bland and killed my enthusiasm for the meal the moment I laid my eyes upon it. I'll give 'em another go to redeem themselves one day but right now I am sticking with home-made, local joints and Domino's.

Uncharacteristically I think the only thing the UK and US Domino's have in common is the brand name.

What makes the US ones better?

I don't know if the US one is better or not - never tried it - but in terms of the recipe they have nothing in common with the UK version. In terms of what they look like they're more similar in appearance to Freschetta actually (frozen pizza brand which we don't get any more).

Pizza Hut and Dominos are the only ones I can comment on, not a massive fan of either, but Dominos gets my vote. Sometimes at work we have a pizza lunch bought for us, it was always Dominos but a few people pushed for Pizza Hut, that day has lived in infamy, horrendous, it has been Dominos ever since

I'd love to know who buys Pizza Hut Italian (thin). I and others have sometimes sat there eating it contemplating whether it's actually come out of ASDA. The same can be said of their garlic bread slices.

Pizza Hut. :dread: Haven't eaten there for at least 7+ years but from memory the pizza buffet was crap. The pepperoni slices are sliced so thin that they can't be cooked without being far too crispy. Would never choose them for a takeaway.

Dominos is the best of the delivery pizza chains.

I tried Papa John's once but I can't remember thinking it was anything special.

Tops Pizza is pretty good but I haven't had it for years. They had a ciabatta sandwich thing which I was hooked about a decade back, not sure if they still do it.

I much preferred the giant slices you get in the USA, much better pizza base and what seemed like better quality ingredients and really good value too. America.

I must admit, we tried Dominos Italian style thin base the other night.
It was good! Nice and crispy and blistered as it should be - it was the closest I've had to actual genuine pizza from a chain takeaway. Very surprised and impressed.

It was in dominos "3 Italian, two topping pizzas for £17.97" offer.
I think the fact that each pizza only had two toppings helped. Don't want to overcrowd a thin base.

At least they offer something to dip pizza crusts in for free, unlike the others which don't. Plus, it's actually rather tasty, but that might be more to do with the other companies not doing their own garlic dipping sauce so there's really no competition or incentive to do better.

I like the fact they call it Italian style when it's still nothing like pizza from Italy

Their choice of hot sauce is so lame. They're the only joint where I don't bother going for a hot sauce and just use stuff I have at home instead. Disappointing.

Last time round I tried their BBQ and honey mustard varieties. BBQ was BBQ (not a fan generally speaking) and the HM was... okay. Think I'll just stick to garlic and herb.

Prezzo is also alright. Pizza express is the go to place just because you can always get vouchers on the website.
