I'm unfamiliar with Slayer but I'm guessing that ditty is based on lyrics? It's clear that Nintendo is now gaining inspiration from heavy rock groups across the world! Bravo, Squinty - truly you have risen to become a rock(man) god :toot: .

Yeah man, big fan of Reign in Blood and metal as a whole. That song I was riffing on is called Angel of Death, it's the album opener. Probably their most well known song beyond Raining Blood, check it out.

Bumppppp

Gone back to this and have made good progress. Best the train thing and did a few more levels. Got all 50 toads and I'm about to go in the big top in the forest.

This is a good one. Some people might think that others are better but this wasn't exactly a bad game.

This is the only one I have had (well apart from that gooseberry fool wii one). And I'm not replaying it, I'm finishing it.

Ah, very good then.

I actually prefer Sticker Star to Colour Splash. While the combat mechanic isn’t quite as refined it shows more ambition, the level design is fantastic and it has a more interesting story (I think). Colour Splash is just an exceptionally lazy churned out sequel to plug a gap in the WiiUs abominable release schedule.

I finished this on Friday. Have to confess that I looked up what stupid random thing card I would need for the last couple of bosses after YET AGAIN being in a fight that gives you no prior warning that you'll need a strawberry floating washing machine to use at a specific point

Overall I'd say it's a 7/10 game. I enjoyed a lot of it and it had some great moments, but the card system was a pain in the ass at times and caused unnecessary agro and failed fights.

Its strange because the boss fight issue was a massive pain in Sticker Star but for Colour Splash it barely ever happened to me. I thought the card system improved on SS quite a lot tbh.

Have started playing this as I didn't pick up the Switch version. Seems like generally good fun, although I don't like the card battle system and much prefer the Mario and Luigi style. That can of paint can strawberry float off as well

It was good fun until an enemy played one of my cards at random, and it took the one mission-critical-needed-for-boss card from my pack and played it against some tiny minion, completely irrelevantly, and I had to backtrack absolutely miles to get another. This random, completely uncontrollable and unavoidable event literally had no effect other than to waste 20 mins of my life.

No character had any programmed response or anything, it just seemed like it hadn't been considered when adding this gameplay element.

I think I'm remembering that correctly. It was really annoying, anyway.

(Cue someone saying I just needed to press 'X' to get another, or something :x . It was the fire extinguisher if you are interested)

Isn't the Wii one considered to be pretty good, despite not being in the same gameplay genre as TTYD?

The Wii one was more of a platformer that you could flip between side on 2d and 3d. I just found it really dull.

As for colour splash, I enjoyed a lot of it, but the card thing was crap on the whole, and things like the one off card being misused as said above really did piss me off.

I see people raving about the Wii game and I just don't get it. It bored the absolute gooseberry fool out of me as well. I vaguely remember it was the second Wii game I got, after a time where nothing was really happening with the system. I found it really disappointing. Basically every puzzle amounted to the same solution (turn the game world's perspective around) and it got very old, very quickly. Also the amount of strawberry floating text was annoying. It is very well written in places, but it never shuts up.

When playing this be sure to read the Digital Instruction Manual entry about the Steak.

It's the marmite of the series. Very mixed views from person to person. I personally have fond memories of the game and remember it being pretty solid.

You could probably have gotten a replica from the card spin
