I wonder if they are going to add anything or if it’s purely a visual overhaul, I’m hoping it’s the latter unless the added stuff is just optional side content

You'll pay £50 for that new lighting and you'll be grateful for it.

One thing I hope they add, that they won’t, is a chapter select after beating the game, sometimes I just want to do redo my favourite chapters again without playing the entire game again.

More realistically, they could probably add difficulty modes, not that it needs them as it felt very well balanced in the original, but difficulty modes are never a bad thing in my opinion if they open it up to more players. They could also add something to the pit of 100 trials, maybe add some more badges as well?

Edit, ordered via ShopTo :toot: Under £40, although no idea why there is a postage option of 2-4 days (free) and 1-3 days (free), both via the Royal Mail, gone for the 1-3 option of course. It says you get a sticker sheet and a paper plane

Few tidbits

1. Nintendo JP have a thumbnail up for an overview trailer so that might be dropping soon

2. Bit of blurb on the Nintendo US page

Twenty years after the original game on the Nintendo GameCube™ system, this version for the Nintendo Switch™ system has revamped graphics, and a suite of additional changes that make the game easier than ever to enjoy.

I hope those easy changes are optional :shifty:

3. The release date for this and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD are both Thursday’s, not Friday’s, wonder if this is a new change Nintendo is implementing?

Hope we don't have to wait long for a little more information then! Hope the easier than ever comment is just basically saying difficulty modes have been added.

I noticed they're both out on Thursdays as well, not sure why to be honest, normally been Tuesday or Fridays before, although I'm sure Xenoblade Chronicles Switch came out on a Wednesday? So maybe different rules for remakes?

I’d prefer they set Thursdays as release day, at least that way you have more chance of Royal Mail delivering your game by the weekend

I assume it'll be similar to the difficulty modes they had in Mario RPG - one that allows people to focus on story over RPG

Yes! I would possibly consider getting this if this feature were in the game. I'd replay the train chapter over and over!

If this was £30 I'd be all over it. But £50 for a 20 year old game that I'm not convinced I'll enjoy? Nah, that's a pass from me.

I'll wait for a sale...

It's £40 from ShopTo right now. For many other remastered games I'd say that's still a bit steep. Not for this one. Genuine all-timer.

I do think it's weird how this is priced compared to Metroid Prime Remastered, when they've extremely similar.

Nintendo's attitude to Prime Remastered was weird all over to be honest, shadow dropping it without giving it a proper build up was not the release it deserved.

I feel they underpriced Prime Remastered, but perhaps that price reflected their apparent interest in it.

I agree on both counts.

Prime Remastered price was spot on, you've all just been conditioned to expect these inflated Nintendo repeat prices!
