The one that Self-Destructed in Search for Spock was the original Enterprise from TOS, it was just refit to the new Constitution Design.
The Enterprise-A was a new ship that Kirk was given at the end of Voyage Home. At the end of Undiscovered Country it was ordered to report for decommissioning.

For some reason I thought that one looked a lot different.

It just never got a moment like the others did, which is a wee shame. I do like the design of that ship.

Someone just pointed out to me that when the old ships come to save the day, you have have Picard on enterprise, work on defiant and seven on voyager

Riker on the NX-01 would work as well he is very familiar with that ship.

Just read the Wikipedia summaries, but even then there's (so far) pretty much nothing you need to know for S3.

Technically the actor is only twenty years younger than Patrick Stewart. So she's twenty years older than Patrick Stewart's wife.
