It needs guest stars from TNG. It wouldn't make sense that Picard doesn't at least speak to his friends anymore. Let's be fair, most people tuning in want more Picard but also a proper resolution to Data's story arc. 8-)

EDIT: Urgh, why did the remaster whack that shite music over one of the series' most iconic scenes? :dread:

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS ANIMATED COMEDY SERIES COMING TO CBS ALL ACCESS

CBS All Access today has announced its next original Star Trek production. Star Trek: Lower Decks will be a new half-hour animated comedy series developed by Rick and Morty writer-producer Mike McMahan. Every time I see this thread I think Patrick Stewart has died and it makes me sad.

That is all.

Patrick Stewart will never die as future generations just won't allow it and will time travel back here from 1 million years into the future to save him.

Santiago Cabrera & Michelle Hurd To Co-Star In ‘Star Trek’ Jean-Luc Picard Series On CBS All Access

No details are being revealed about the characters Cabrera and Hurd are playing, but I hear Cabrera will play the pilot of Picard’s ship who also is a skillful thief. Hurd is playing a former intelligence officer who is a brilliant analyst with a terrific memory that has not been affected by her drug and alcohol abuse.

I'm going to go in blind as usual so I'm expecting it to be the best thing ever and if it isn't I'm going to be furious so no pressure from me :shifty: .

They better have at least one story about a holodeck malfunction and a time loop episode or what's the point.

Ugh, so even this is going to be going all grimdark as well?
I seriously hope that rumour is completely and utterly wrong.

Alison Pill (The Newsroom), Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) and Isa Briones (American Crime Story: Versace) are set as series regulars opposite Patrick Stewart in CBS All Access’ upcoming Star Trek series that will explore the next chapter of Jean-Luc Picard.

The new untitled Star Trek series, produced by CBS TV Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, features Stewart reprising his iconic role as Picard, which he played for seven seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and follows him in the next chapter of his life. Pill, Treadaway and Briones join previously announced cast members Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora.

As with the others, no details are being revealed about the characters Pill, Treadaway and Briones will play.

Looks like they’re going down Firefly with Picard. :slol:

Rumours are rumours, so debunk them as bullshit until it’s confirmed.

I’d actually quite like a series set in the trek universe but not focused on star fleet. They have created such a huge and diverse universe both technologically and also in terms of species and geography. I just assumed it would be a static planet based location focusing on Picards retirement.

Whatever happens it won’t be classic 90s trek and some people will struggle to get over that I’m sure

It'd be great if they decided to just say strawberry float it and make a Cheers style show where Picard owns a pub and it's just about the old Enterprise crew getting old and doing random gooseberry fool.

I'd watch that :shifty: .
