That thread is quite out of date - we aren't on PCS for one thing.

the mumble link still works though, Dblock joined last night as I went to bed.

faildead

pcsupremacy.co.uk points to grcade, so it still works, though you might get certificate errors if you use one address, and then change.

Microsoft Golf was the gooseberry fool, though. Countless hours of me and my dad's lives lost to that. Even now, 16 years later, we quote the game when we're on the course.

Could anyone recommend me a good monitor? I'd like to see what is out there now-a-days, although I doubt I will be able to justify any spending considering my 8 year old one is still running perfectly.

Pm or steam me if you fancy it.

Anyone played Metal Gear Rising and sorted out the graphical issues when trying to play at fullscreen 1080p? I've been searching the Steam forums and have tried various suggestions but I'm having no luck and it's spoiling the game for me. If I could just stop the UI from flickering, then it'd be bearable, even with a capped frame rate.

Hello. I wondered if any of you could give me some advice. I'm hoping to build a new PC over the summer. I bought the one below five years ago for quite a price. Having not really followed PC gaming recently (and I know it's probably looking a bit pokey now), but how much do you think I could sell the system below for second hand? Would you think it would be better stripping it for parts and selling on individually? Thanks.

Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 600W
Processor: Core i7 920 8MB Cache Socket 1366
CPU Cooler: CoolIt Domino ALC CPU Liquid Cooler
Graphics Card 1: Radeon HD4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express ***since upgraded to hd6870
Memory: 6GB Corsair DDR3 1333MHz C9 Triple Channel
Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58 UDR3 Socket 1366
Hard Disk Drive One: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1 32MB Cache SATA 300
Optical Drive One: DVD-RW 20x
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.
OS: Windows 7
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos 1000

Got my PC all set up and working! But there's one nagging issue - at the moment, it's just VGA cabled into the television mounted on my wall (going to buy a proper monitor next week) and it looks fine, except for a huge black bar down the left hand side which makes everything about an inch off-centre. Anybody have any ideas?

Try the autoset /auto scan / auto adjust function on the TV which should centre it. That can happen with vga because there's no 1 to 1 pixel mapping as their is with dvi/hdmi. Sometimes fixes a blurry image too, another thing you can try is checking refresh rate under display options > monitor or something like that. Happens with my 360 over hdmi actually.

Big ol' Steam update entered beta. The main highlight is that the browser got replaced again, and this time it's apparently pure Chromium. Unfortunately it's currently not working for me. In other news, Steam can now play and organise music in the regular client (previously only available in Big Picture), you can now set multiple categories for each individual game, and you can now Shift + click or Ctrl + click to select multiple games.

Bad news: OSX 10.5 support is getting dropped.
