PostPC whizz's - help with drivers please?
by Judoscar » Sat Jan 23, 2010 2:04 pm

I am upgrading Vista to Windows 7, but the install is insisting I upgrade my SCSI/RAID driver. Not even sure what that is, although I think something to do with the Hard disk.

I have google'd with not much luck. Is there a PC whizz who can help .. a link or something?

It is for a Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop.

Thanks for any help.

Can you not ignore it? You may need to find your SATA Drivers on Dell's website, but Vista and 7 should support it.

Thought I could ignore it, but it will not let you continue and marks you restart every time. So I need a SATA driver??

Yeah, Win7 should be able to pull it off a USB stick.

Cheers. Sussed it with some forum reading elsewhere and trawling the Dell support site for the Drivers. Win 7 installed, and looking mighty swish compared to vista.
