Just bought this VR game and have played it for a bit, really enjoying it so far. Need to work on my aim a bit, but was fabulously tense and sometimes scary with enemies appearing from around corners just as I was poking my head around them. I feel like I've just scratched the surface with my little playthrough at the moment

Like this one...

Is slightly worse than the excellent category on Logical increments, http://www.logicalincrements.com/ for about $200 more, but the problem is there is no where that actually has a 1070 in stock for the price listed on LI.
When I was looking for a graphics card last year, there was a thread on either LI or Tom's Hardware about pre-built machines. The poster was making an argument that, as the big companies had large stocks of these gold dust cards bought pre-boom, the best way to get hold of one was to buy a pre-build, nab the card and bin off/sell/cannibalise the rest.

It might be worth checking these places out, Rightey. Constantly on the lookout for good deals on the components, but also a number of great value pre-builts right now.

Just a note, it's best not to post Steam codes up here openly. I think Karl has mentioned bots come along and pick them up.
The suggested method is to post you have one and ask people to PM you for it

The code still seems to be valid although I already own it.

Thanks for the info, luckily my PC is still good for a while, it was just a thought I had as there was some discussion earlier about GPU prices.

Anyone hyped for Kingdom Come: Deliverance?

I just saw a trailer and it looks very pretty but the combat just looks... weird.

Seems a bit slow. I mean I know that's more realistic than a hack and slash type stuff you see in other games but visually I'm not sure if I like it.

The idea of buying a prebuild to obtain a reasonably priced GPU, seriously? I think I'll upgrade when Godzilla rules the earth, then.

Like in all the previews I've seen people are touting how amazing it is that the game doesn't hold your hand in any way, so that when you're examining the scene of a bunch of murdered soldiers, there's no detective vision/Witcher senses pointing you in the right direction, and no quest markers. Which is all fine in theory, but you know witcher senses and detective vision are there for a damn good reason. Because trying to be an actual detective in these games sucks dick and wandering aimlessly hoping to stumble across a clue isn't fun. Tho combat looks dreadful too. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say this game is going to be Oblivion tier bugs and glitches. I think it looks great, i love the idea of a realistic, grounded medieval game, but it's going to need about 6 months of patches and updates before I'll touch it.

At least the PC version will be moddable.

There's nothing wrong with prebuilds if you just want a decent PC and can't be bothered with (or physically can't) assembling, testing, configuring and generally faffing about with settings.

I wouldn't buy a HP, Dell or Lenovo desktop as they're packed full of bloatware and other gooseberry fool but if you get one from somewhere like Overclockers where you can choose your components then there is very little difference to building it yourself.

I got a Dell laptop last year, and there's no bloatware on it. There's their own BIOS software and updater, but that's about it.

I got a hp laptop and it had more than half a dozen pieces of software I got rid of. Great machine, though, for the most part.

No dis for prebuilds from reputable vendors at all, just mad things are so expensive experienced system builders are gutting them just to reduce the net cost after selling the remaining parts to keep the gpu.

Does anyone use mouse mats these days? I've not used one for years, but recently my desk has been getting all horrible where the mouse is, and the finish is wearing away a bit. I have too many memories of mouse mats curling up at the sides, or the mouse coming off the edge and screwing you up in games to really want one again. Any recommendations?

I use a Razer one that is about the same thickness as a couple of sheets of paper, has a non permanent adhesive backing too so it doesn't curl up or move.

I need to get another on though as mine is looking a bit grubby now.

I use one. Just got the cheapest mousemat I could find - a recycled one from Tesco - and it works perfectly.

I got this before work imploded

Its rigid metal, nice and thin and the mouse glides over it like an air hockey thingy. Really nice. Don't know if I'd pay the price they used to ask for it though. Oh and I also stick my hot as to it and have them on my lap which is nice.

On another topic, I'm strawberry floating sick of having my racing videos ruined by the GeForce experience footage recorder not recording the sound :x I had an amazing race earlier so saved the footage and there's no audio. Again. It does it all the time now so in a stopped using it. Can anyone recommend a decent alternative please?

I just use the mouse mats I got with various WoW collectors editions and they more or less do the job well enough.
