Sounds like FFIV (and presumably V) are ports of the iOS/Android versions as well.

Super Dragon, do you know if FFVII is pretty much the original PC release? Or did they touch it up, like the PS4 version?

My understanding is that it's a tarted up version of the original PC port. It had the horrible PC Midi soundtrack for a while, but it's apparently been patched to use the original PSX one now so that's better. If you get it, you might want to look at the Reunion mod, which fixes some issues, and has a few optional additions like the 60fps mod which again, makes it more like the PSX original. Alternatively just get the PS4 version.

tried playing MGSV last night, 2 hours of playing it and about 30mins of me actually playing the damn game... don't understand the hype behind it.

The entire prologue was just watching cut scenes in frustration, and watching a weak man falling down every time he tries to stand up.

Once you've rescued Miller and been introduced to Diamond Dogs FOB the game opens up and the story is a bit more drip-fed.

MGSV's opening is bizarre in how unrepresentative it is of the game at large, at least you've gotten it out of the way. The actual main chunk of the game is so damn fun

MGSV is amazing. The intro was annoying, the cutscenes and story are garbage, but the game is just pure joy.

It's the closest thing there's been to Crysis since Crysis. If someone had told me such a game would come from a Japanese studio I would have hit them.

I got Max Payne 3 today first time playing it. I really don't like all these cut scenes. It breaks up the game play way to often which is a shame. Big step backwards in terms of how good the originals were. Graphics are decent, but I want to spend more time actually in control of max rather than not going into cinematics which use some really awful post process effects. Hope it gets better into the later game. So far not that impressed.

I need to get round to trying that again: i downloaded it once on mid-range internet for ages then i launched it, changed some options, restarted and it completely failed to work. All the solutions seemed to involve messing with .NET frameworks and other things i wasn't keen on doing at the time.
