Enjoy! Such a brilliant game, still think it's one of the best FPS games ever made, the writing is so good and the diversity of the levels is something very few other games can touch. The sequel is great too.

Don't know if you've come across this before but given it's basically been lost into the abyss with publisher rights some fans have got a website up and running which provides both games (and the not so good expansion, contract JACK) all patched up to date and with no CD cracks - http://nolfrevival.tk/

Ah, thanks for that buddy. I still have all three games on CD-ROM. It's been a few years since I last played them all so I'm playing them again now in chronological order. And I agree with you about it being one of the best FPS games ever made. The original is up there as one of my all time favourite games. Completed the Morocco levels today and it was just amazing. Like you say, the level design is incredible. And it has such an amazing sense of humour.

I don't remember NOLF2 as much as the original so I can't wait to play it again.

I'm downloading NOLF1 and 2 as we speak, I heard they were good but never got round to them, so am glad they have been kept alive.

Your sig has me wondering how I'd review them if I got into that kind of state again. RTCW is another one of my favourite FPSs but I definitely prefer NOLF 1 & 2.

No problem, I still have my originals lurking around somewhere but it's nice to have easy access to them. Wish they'd get their act together and sort out licensing so that we can have a Steam (or even GOG) release.

I haven't played either in a long time but there are still so many sequences that stand out to me, definitely want to replay both at some point this year. NOLF 2 isn't quite as good overall from what I remember but it's still a great game.

I'd actually forgotten that you can revisit earlier levels with late game equipment to find more secrets. Up to "The Dive" now and it's just so consistantly awesome.

I watched a gameplay video of it the other day and it looked so boring and one note. Really disappointing.

Playing as the US in Twilight Struggle and I headline the Defectors card. USSR plays the Asia scoring card, which would have given me 10VP. But it was cancelled by my defectors!

strawberry float!

Ended up with a win on turn 9 in the end. The AI USSR started nuclear war which handed me the win. I think their only other option was to play a scoring card which would've made me win also. So they decided they may as well kill everyone.

Anybody get any experience with Ultrawide Monitors?

I had been planning on holding out for decent 4K/HDR10/Gsync monitors and planned to upgrade my GPU at the same time but between the poor Windows 10 implementation of HDR, the current price of a new GPU and the lack of options on the market right now I'm reconsidering it. I know Asus and Acer have their models coming out soon but they're going to cost a fortune.

I currently have a 1440p monitor with G Sync and it's great, but the extra screen size would be really useful for gaming, I've also heard that it would allow for films to be watched at their proper dimensions, without borders which is pretty appealing. On the other hand I've heard that compatibility can be pretty poor with some games, I also use my consoles through the same monitor and so that would mean playing with big borders on either side (not the end of the world but not something I'm that fond of either). Anybody got any thoughts on them, is it worth bothering with or am I just as well sticking to the original plan and holding out until we get some decent, affordable 4K monitors (and GPU's to go with them!)

Was just thinking, does anyone use a dedicated sound card anymore?

Yes?
