I will pay you £65 to not sell it to Kezzer. You can still sell it to anyone else.

I will pay you £70 to allow you to sell it to me.

So that's RockPaperShotgun all bought up then:

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/0 ... r-network/

Sold to the Gamer Network, the guys who own Eurogamer and apparently every other gaming site ever.

To quote the internet of old, Do Not Want.

the top comment on the page

An official statement from John Walker:

"There comes a point in everyone's career when they must abandon all their principles and beliefs, and sell out to The Man. It was simply our time. I want to assure readers that while RPS will be irreparably damaged by this sale, and that everything they love and hold dear about the site is lost, my mortgage has been significantly reduced."

Makes me extremely glad I didn't sign up for the Supporter programme. Which I was tempted to do.

Going to teach Mia how to build a computer, too. Indoctrinate them whilst they are young.

Make sure you teach her how to use the word "Peter Crisp" too.

In all seriousness good on you, it'll be fun & experiences like that are what get kids into science and tech.

Genuinely thought they were already part of that network and had been for a long time. :?

Kind of wish I'd gone for an i7 and 1080 instead of the strix 1070 I got as I'm 90% playing vr and I could do with the extra horsepower, but I had to buy everything from scratch with my build and when my basket hit close to 4 grand I had to drop a few things :dread:

 . I think that is why my two sojourns into PC gaming were brief (1993 to 1994 and then 2002 to 2005).

It was pushing 4 when I took the 1080 and i7 out.

Vive was 700, monitor was 500, ram was 300, graphics card was 450

And so on.

Really depends on what you want to do with your PC. Mine cost about £500 all in and is good enough to play pretty much everything at 60fps in 1080p.

My PC is based around a Dell T20 server. I picked this up for about £115 in Nov 2015 (there was £70 cashback from Dell). I added a 128GB SSD for £25 (use this for OS and office). Additional 16GB RAM was about £90, 8 core Xeon was about £240. 1050ti GPU was £150 in credit from CEX, but I suppose I should really factor that in so total spend is closer to £650.
