I really enjoy talking about white male privilege on my pc gaming threads. Its super hot to drag up a four year old article to question whether maybe this one thing someone said was maybe not right - you know, at that point in time when all the world was drowning in a torrent of liquid gooseberry fool ejected from oppressors and oppressed and xe's and xur's and owlkin.

Maybe if you want to question the morality and politics of one random dude then start a gaming politics thread or morality discussion and deal with it in there, and have it locked and deleted like it does on every other gaming discussion outlet. Its a gooseberry fool conversation which invites shitheads but if you want to have it then do it in the proper place so you'll all at least be primed for the shitting back and forth, forever, with the rest of the professionally offended and professional offenders.

I think I'm accurate in saying that this forum is, generally, fairly left leaning. Take a look at the polls on the Brexit thread, or the attitudes in the politics thread and this holds true. However, whenever I bring up politics within the realm of gaming, or in this case simply attempt to canvass the opinions of people on an article I stumbled across, I am greeted with hostility. Concerning hostility.

I don't get this. It could be because games for many are an escape from the real world and the idea of bringing that world into the realm of games scares people. It could be because different people read different sections of the forum. Who knows.

But still. To answer your post, this is the general PC gaming thread. I had a quick and simple question, the answer to which I was genuinely interested in. I thought this was the most relevant place to ask it. I did not get an answer, for whatever reason. So, once again, I'll back away from the conversation because I know I'll be shouted down.

I just wish I knew why.

I dont know how much gamergating you have done, so excuse me if Im misinterpreting. Gamergate is such a toxic word (portmanteau?) that it instantly raises heckles. Its pretty undoubtable that the same wankers that bred that mess have also succesfully nurtured the current alt-right shite as well. These are the kinds of gooseberry fool stains that the conversations deal with.

Now, had we had a brand new bombshell article from Mr Waypoint saying how maybe women in games is a bad thing after all, you know? Then hell yeah mummy strawberry floater lets call that cunny a cunny and piss on his head. Reviving a four year old thinkpiece, that even in its genre is entirely insignificant and forgettable, to discuss the merits and demerits of a point of view that very well could have evolved or been retracted is not productive.

Yo Taf. I'm totally cool with 'gaming politics' discussions, but the PCGT isn't the right place IMO. If you fancy starting a thread for it then that would be great.

Also worth mentioning: Grim Fandango Enhanced Edition is free on GOG right now. One of the most interesting games ever made, all spruced up for millenials. No excuse not to play it now.
