He has a point tho. Macbooks just arent worth the money. They do nothing to justify the price tag

They don't even really have the software advantage they used to when it comes to things like audio and video editing.

I'm not going to be doing video / audio editing. It's based on pure preference on OS.

Hoo boy, well my laptop is on its last legs (overheating, warped chassis, unresponsive keys and now my only USB 3.0 port doesn't work) and my old desktop just took a trip to the dump. It seems I can put it off no longer, even if RAM and video cards are stupidly expensive these days, I must get a new machine. I presume this is the place to ask for help with building a rig. It's been a while and I'm fairly out of the loop on what's good these days

Can anyone point me in the right direction if I set a budget at a £1000 ceiling to include a monitor (preferably 144hz) and a machine? (Case also needed, no need for peripherals like mice and keyboards)

So you're happy to pay hundreds of pounds over the odds for equivalent hardware just to get MacOS?

Controversial thought time. Sometimes people prefer other things and they have more or less money to fund it.

Are you that banana split who lords over people with iphones because you have a strawberry floating rooted Galaxy 1 or some gay gooseberry fool? Get over it.

If his strawberry floating kid prefers OSX then let the banana split use it. Im pretty sure Jim isnt gonna arrive at your house with the strawberry floating bill so chill your tits.

I was massively snooty around Macs until I got bought a Macbook Air last Christmas. MacOS is super, super slick with loads of bits and bobs Windows simply doesn't have, the trackpad is really useful and the build quality is out of this strawberry floating world.

I have a PC and a Mac. Both are great in their own way.

When you look at the high quality laptops that you can get in Windows world you find that they aren't actually that much cheaper. Getting a high end Surface Pro or a Thinkpad costs a lot of money as well.

I've got a Macbook Pro I still use that is 11 years old, I can't imagine using a non-thinkpad laptop of that age.

I bought my first MacBook Pro last year purely for the fact that it wasn't that much more expensive than a similarly priced Windows laptop and it will still be worth something in 2 to 3 years ago so upgrading will be reasonable.

It runs a surprising amount of my Stream library too.

Apparently Bullet Witch has just been released on Windows. So, yeah, if you've been waiting 11 years, it's about to pay off.

I googled it, but I got nothing but Bayonetta screenshots.

Bullet Witch is...an experience to say the least.
Don't go in expecting something totally solid. There's potential there for sure but a lot went sadly untapped on the 360.

From what I hear though the PC version isn't just a straight port, they've actually tweaked it a bit and added in things like a dash move (which was badly needed)

I loved Bullet Witch back then, got all achievements (which is basically doing all difficulties, including Hell difficulty... Which isn't too bad). It does boil down to knowing where checkpoints are and just rush through and only kill what is needed but I had about 15hours gameplay of it, so I can't really complain.

Might be worth picking up if you see it for cheap, but I don't think I'll play through it again.

Also new PC here, woohoo....and all I play is Golf with your Friends.

None of my friends play Golf though.

I wouldn't want them if they were so boring they played golf though.

We could play it together, you sillies. :P

But nah I had few games of it and it's pretty good mini golf game. Fairly buggy at times but that makes it rather fun and hilarious, in text chat. I assume voice chat can be hoot.

It's only £5 too, no bad really

I've definitely played Bullet Witch through a couple of times but I can't remember a thing about it. I don't even remember how it played or what it looked like.

Free Steam key for Mini Ninjas on Square Enix store when the following code is used at checkout: minininjas

Played it for a bit, a few things:

-Delete legalscreen_eu.zip and legalscreen_us.zip in the movie folder of the game's location to skip startup logos (cheers pcgamingwiki!)
-Speaking of...as per this note on the pcgamingwiki entry, I was getting constant microstuttering until I unplugged my USB keyboard.
-The game was crashing for me on a pre-title loading screen until I turned off NVidia DSR on my 4k TV. Had the same problem with Nier Automata, so strange :/

Aside from weird technical quirks, it seems super charming :)
