I'd only go in for the free stuff (and the free stuff I'm most interested in, Medium and Quill, are only free with a Touch pre-order I think). Not risking spending money on something only for Revive support to maybe be broken accidentally or intentionally in a future Oculus software update.

Yeah that's fair enough - Medium and Quill are around £50-60 combined unless you have a touch pre-order, I do think Oculus should just open the store up to official support of the Vive though. They'd make plenty off software sales as they're building a pretty good library of exclusives and if every Vive owner bought a couple of the free Oculus touch games (like Robo Recall for example when that comes out) then it'd be easy money for them.

There's some really great content out too and absolutely bags of free stuff (two free games for all pre-orders, rrp of around £60 and then another £100 or so worth for simply owning the software), I'm still waiting for mine to arrive (should have them by the end of the week) to really get to experience them but they look fantastic.

It's still very early days and most of us I'm guessing lack either the rigs, or the money to jump in at this point. I'm happy enough to wait a couple of years for the price of entry to drop to something that's a bit more wallet friendly. Personally I think I'm more likely to get a PSVR in the next year than I am to have the cash to spend on a PC capable of running it, and the headsets themselves.

If PSVR takes off in a big enough way then I wouldn't be surprised to see increased PC VR interest in the coming year, possibly with some PSVR ports.

Once VR headsets don't cost the same as a whole PC, then maybe more people will get interested. £600 plus is a lot to splash out on something I think most people still see as a but of a gimmick.

People who say vr is a gimmick simply haven't tried it. On the GRcade podcast there was some strawberry floating idiot saying how gooseberry fool and gimmicky it is, something like "I don't want to jump around playing football" :fp:

The other night I spent a few hours playing an adventure game where I was totally immersed, completely forgot I was in a game at points, just amazing. I play project cars in it where it feels like I'm driving a real car on my own private track day, and elite dangerous where I feel like a space mercenary. But hey, LOL GIMMICK FOOTBALL M8

Agree about the price, it's absurd but strawberry float me is it worth it.

Or... "Crisp-eating Simulator Pro" with 7.1 sound. You could pretend you'are at your desk whilst at home, Ad :toot: .

I really like this feature, I dont think Ive actually used it to play any of the games but its a really nice touch from Gog and the devs to allow their games be owned on multiple platforms at once, something I think there should be more of.

I had a pre-order for a Vive before it launched but I let it get cancelled when the suppliers were having shipping issues and I couldn't be bothered to wait on the phone to replace my order. I'm still very keen to get a Vive but I'll probably wait until I've upgraded my graphics card, bought a second monitor and re-arranged my room for the light bases. Hopefully by that time things like Battlezone and Batman will have been ported over That being said, I'm tempted to get PSVR as I got a free PS4 Pro and I would like to play Battlezone and Batman :shifty:

Had a great evening bombing this strawberry floater around this track practising drifting before having a sunset race on the same track against 4 other atoms :datass:

Excuse the arse graphics, I'm having trouble finding the sweet spot to keep high fps even though I've got a high spec machine. Project cars is so badly optimised for vr :dread:

For some reason the race itself didn't upload.

Bloody gimmicks.

My Oculus touch controllers came today, seriously impressed - Superhot in VR is unreal, felt like I was Neo in the Matrix :datass:

My Vive arrives today! :)

any game recommendations? I've got Elite and Project Cars but not sure what else is out there.

Haven't played VR since the 90s, so seriousely excited!

8-)

The lab
Trials on tatooine
Call of the starseed (free with the Vive)
Zombie shooting gallery (free with the Vive)

Be prepared for project cars running like gooseberry fool in certain conditions for no good reason by the way. Some tracks it'll just tank the frame rate on a particular corner for no good reason.

Have you got a wheel? I've got a g27 for sale if not :shifty:

I have :D , and a stick & throttle for Elite.

I've refrained from playing either game for the past few months in anticipation of getting the vive.

Really should have booked today as Holiday! :(

How long did it take you to set it all up Ad?

20-30 mins I'd say. Longest bit was downloading and installing the software. I mounted one lighthouse on an extending curtain pole and grip (looks a lot slicker than it sounds) and the other one on the end of the window curtain rail, looks really smart and unobtrusive.

Elite is incredible in VR but strawberry float me is it slow going. Spent about 5 hours on it since I got the vive and all I've done is lose money.
