Taken a punt, I've always wondered what the appeal of mechanical keyboards is, and can't hurt to have an extra set of keys about.

I ordered some other stuff as well to try and offset that delivery cost but at least one of those items has been cancelled :fp:

The delivery notifications will come from Game btw, confused the hell out of me because I haven't ordered anything from Game in years! And the DPD driver tried to strawberry float off without ringing my doorbell, the cheeky twat

Anyone on here ever purchase through the Steam mobile app? Lately it's felt like payments through there are utterly broken. Using PayPal doesn't let me log in, I enter my email and it constantly returns me to the same enter email screen. Using a saved payment card always fails to load the authentication screen, and then freezes my ability to purchase at all as there's a frozen transaction that's still pending. It's just useless.

Yeah I've been experiencing this recently and have just been purchasing through my desktop.

Still use the app for looking at my play history, achievements, sales etc but just bizarre that the payment options seem fubar.

Had the first trial of my childproof invisible tech streaming setup last night which worked well, playing Tiny Lands (which is basically spot the difference: the videogame) in the living room after the boy had gone to bed, running off my pc up in my office. Fairly happy with steam link, haven't really tried moonlight yet other than as a necessity to remotely switch the pc off as for some reason I couldn't find an option in steam big picture mode to do it.

We don't go to Raytracenholm.

Anyone played Definitely Not Fried Chicken? It's a drug dealing management sim I picked up in the Steam Capitalism sale for £10. It's good but the difficulty curve is steep. You can basically lose the game for yourself in 5 minutes if you don't setup a legitimate front business immediately but you won't realise for an hour or so.

So last night was fun. PC decided it was a good time to take out the motherboard and possibly the cpu as well as the power supply. Ho hum. Time for a new PC. Yey.

PSU blow up? What happened? What PSU?

A relatively old corsair PSU (she live a good life) looks to have damaged the 24 pin, a cap on the mainboard went as well. I'm not that sad tbh, gives me an excuse for the upgrade and I am liking the new Coolermaster Ncore 100 Max so will need to downsize on mobo anyway.

The NCores look mad. I’ve got the z790i edge from MSI with a 13900k. Building a gaming PC today then best bet seems to be 7800x3d if it’s pure gaming. AM5 boards can be expensive.

Looking at £200 range as they are thin on the ground. Some DDR5, I was looking at 96GB but rolled my neck in a bit to 64 GB. Can reuse the SSD's if they are working, cooling and PSU are part of the case (which is why it's expensive) and, as I am getting a new mobo I can have the 7800X3D.

I got the 7800X3D and it's really bloody good.

What's the sweet spot for bang for bucks these days?
Are GPU prices now somewhat sane or are they still stupid?

What you need 64gb for? 32Gb plenty for gaming.

GPU prices still silly. 4080 super is a good card and now £950. Same price at 7900xtx. Digital foundry did a thing on PS5 vs 4080 and you can see the performance you get from a 4080 super. Mega. But so is the price, but you need a good screen to do it justices

I am going to be really honest, because I can. No rhyme or reason.

Now that I think about it DCS has been known to gobble ram like Chrome.

There's no way I could justify £950 to myself for a graphics card even if it made games look next gen.

I see PC gaming as like someone who likes cars.
Sure, you can get a car that gets you from a to b but some people like flashy cars.
What's the most ram you can normally fit into a PC these days?
The consoles I think have 12gb so maybe 32gb?

Gaming machines 192 GB, a work station PC which you would probably use occasionally for gaming once and a while and really isn't something with gaming even in mind at all, Threadripper Pro can take 2TB on the WRX90 boards.
