The TLDR Version

- Amazing resolution and performance
- Tiny and lightweight
- You scan your face so the mask is perfect fit
- Glass wearers - You buy lenses as per your perscription
- Expensive
- No good built in sound, but who doesn't have a decent pair of headphones they can use.
- You can't really share with friends as it's so built around you. Disappointing but I will get over it.

My main 4 issues with VR as a HTC Vive owner are that it's uncomfortable, hot, heavy with a poor resolution and Screen door effect (appreciate this is last gen). This seems to resolve all of these. :)

That looks like a bit of a game changer for VR.

That just your catchphrase, or for real? 'Cause I'm not entirely sure how to read that.

Think it might be because I've previously called VR a gimmick.

The Jingle Jam has come to an end and I've still got a load of Steam keys from the Games Collection I won't be using. The games featured in this year's collection are here, with games already claimed in the spoiler below. And don't forget, you only have until the end of the month to use them.

8-Bit Armies
Candy Disaster
Cat Quest
Final Profit
Golfie
Longvinter
Marble World
Make Way
Thief Simulator
Tinytopia
Toodee and Topdee
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
Xenonauts
Zeepkist

Steam Awards proving, yet again, that you just can't trust people to have any sense.

Starfield a nominee in Most Innovative category. Worse than The Game Awards :fp:

My Steam Year In Review 2023 is mind blowing

I'm so lucky to get to play all the games I do. Even though my backlog is still huge, it really makes me appreciate how much time I do get with my hobby.

Pretty crazy numbers. 72 hours of Elden Ring only made up 5% of my total playtime. And I'm not one of these idiots that leaves games idling either.

On average that's four hours gaming every day

Yeah, I too feel privileged to spend so much time gaming, makes the soul crushing disability a little easier to live with.

I haven't really played much on steam this year it seems. Played way more on switch.

I have an odd question.

The last pc I built was over 20 years ago and had the first quad core CPU.
I'd say it was a pretty easy build as it was mid range in terms of price (I had a budget of £600 for the whole thing) and the graphics card was tiny by todays standards.

What would you guys say is the main difference between building a PC now and back then?

It hurts more if you drop your graphics card (some weigh 2kg).

The sizes of the most powerful new cards is insane.
I have a feeling if you smooshed my enitre old PC (Except the power supply) into the same shape it wouldn't be that much larger overall.
I don't think the old graphics card had a fan or any cooling for example.
The only cooling I remember was the CPU fan bolted on top and that was just the size of the cpu but slightly tall.

I'd say that there fewer primary components which now are, for the most part, plug and play. Cooling is more important today given how much power modern components can draw which in itself is an important consideration as some components are very power hungry and electricity ain't exactly cheap.

Mechanical keyboard for a tenner. Just got mine through the post and it has a little key remover tool and seemingly quite a lot of RGB options (more than I was expecting) - looking forward to taking it for a spin later on.
