Holy gooseberry fool. Surely ITV were breaking some laws with the amount of advertising going on there? The last part couldn't have been more than 6 minutes long.

There were loads of adverts (three acts and a P&T trick in an hour, really), but I enjoyed it. The first couple were nice enough, the second act was poor (even though he was a likeable chap) and the last two tricks were great. I especially loved P&T at the end.

Is it just my imagination, or is this not on ITV Player?

The actual magic tricks were entertaining but they must've took up about 20 minutes of the show. The other 40 was just fluff and adverts. :|

Yeah, the pilot episode had five magicians and two Penn and Teller tricks, this had just three magicians and one P&T trick. Plus P&T didn't talk about whether they liked a trick or not, it was just a quick yes or no for if it fooled them.

Also the quality was lower. The first two tricks weren't very good, but the last guy and P&T's helium trick were very good.

Edit: It seems the reason there were only three magicians is because they showed that film of the previous winners in Vegas, so maybe there will be four acts next week.

I think the pilot was 90 miuntes long as well, Im not 100% on that but I remember watching it and when it was over being surprised at how long it was.

Anyone watch tonight's episode? Thought it was a lot better than the first one, some of the sleight of hand on show is stunning.

Yeah I enjoyed it a lot again this week. The big illusion was pointless as it's common as muck and never going to fool P&T. The rest was really good.

I'm looking forward to this weeks show. Penn says that 'Piff the Magic Dragon' who is on tonight is his favourite act of the whole series, and also there is Shawn Farquhar:

Edit: Actually, it seems Shawn Farquhar isn't on tonight. :(

I don't usually like card tricks, but that was spectacular!!

How the hell did he make that Bent card jump through the deck!!?

Another good episode. Piff the Dragon was the highlight, but the next guy with the torn newspaper was also very good. The guy with CD players was awful and there are so many different ways he could have done that trick that it almost was even a trick. The last guy was technically very good, but had no personality and I hated the way he speaks.

Very good performance by Teller at the end too, always love seeing that trick.

Albear wrote:How the hell did he make that Bent card jump through the deck!!?

It's actually very simple:
When he bends the card he is actually bending two cards and so the original one is already at the top, but due to the way he is holding the deck it looks flat. He just has to realease his grip slightly and the top card will suddenly bend again looking like it has passed through the pack.

This is excellent, much better than the show the BBC had with Lenny Henry a few months ago.
