I've played P3 four times (completed twice) already but I don't mind an excuse for playing a remake.

Right after I downloaded the portable version onto the switch

Looks gorgeous. Really looking forward to this.

I wonder what tartarus will be like. I didn't mind the randomly generated floors. The palaces in Persona 5 were cool but I hated how often you were interrupted for the game to frame a puzzle for you. So I kind of hope some of the simplicity is retained.

It's a shame there's no female protagonist route. I would love it if they added it as DLC down the line but I'm not holding my breath.

Looks awesome and I've wishlisted it. But I only just bought Persona 4 Golden and need to start that first :lol:

Get it played - it's fantastic. The small village setting is one of the most evocative of any RPG I have played.

Currently no article, summary from Resetera -

UI design good (duh)
Character models look good
P5, SH2, and SMTV persona models brought over to P3R
Some reflections are raytraced but fairly limited, with SSR fallback and other techniques like planar reflections used.
PC build visual settings menu very basic
No motion blur other than when sprinting, limited depth of field use.
cutscenes are 2D animated and fully reanimated, or use 3D dioramas
pre-rendered and fixed 30 FPS cutscenes
environment lighting is pretty flat with different moods vs P3FES
gloomao SSDO/reshade mods on PC can help alleviate this unless Atlus patches it.
P5 has denser, more complex outdoor areas, even.
Series X and PS5 look similar other than minor lighting differences
shadows coloring looks darker on XSX a bit, I think?
rt quality is similar
Series S lacks RT reflection and takes a shadow resolution hit
XSX/PS5 is 4K typically and without anti-aliasing, with UI possibly being less than 4K
XSS is 1080p, again without anti-aliasing
All hit 60 FPS in typical play
XSX dips a little in the mall possibly due to the RT reflections
Says its possible similar dips can occur on PS5, but in the material he played on the platform it stuck to 60
Cutscenes are 30 FPS without frame pacing issues

Looking really good, I'll get it after I finish FFVII ReBirth so around May time

Enjoying it so far. It's basically what I wanted out of a modern remake of this game. Some nice little quality of life changes too. The Rewind feature is a nice touch for when I make a mistake or just want to experiment with something. Used it now to check if putting 10k yen into the offertory box was worth it to raise academics (it did not seem worth it).

Does seem like it's going to be a bit light on additional content though, which is a shame. I was going to say I didn't mind them not including The Answer from FES since it was a bit contentious, but I'm reading now that it's planned DLC which I'm pretty eh on.

I caved and bought it, I mean I will buy it anyway so might as well get it whilst I can get it for £44

Just tried this and just like the PC port of P5R I can't play it due to sodding mouselook removing the mouse cursor.

There's keyboard camera controls but there's no option to disable mouselook as the default, why do cheap indie games still have better accessibility options than this in 2024?

Daughter's been on this non stop since Friday, bank holiday in Ireland so yeah 3 days straight, loves it. Her enthusiasm got me playing Persona 5 again, finished second Palace last night, stunning game, such STYLE.

I will say from what I've seen of Persona 3 Reload it's a decent graphical step up on 5 Royale.
