With the threat of Mega Thread Closure looming, I thought it only right that this gem be moved into its own place where all 4 of the people that own it just now can rave about its awesomeness.

You can get it easily on import from sites such as VideoGamesPlus or sellers on Amazon or you can wait another few weeks and pick it up when it's officially released in the UK on the 22nd of February. Really though, I'd say that if you're even slightly interested, you should just jump in now and buy it.

A JRPG in modern settings where TVs are more than just your average box in the corner, building relationships make Big Monsters bigger and you can run around a strip club, carrying a spade whilst being followed by a giant teddy.

This is more than just your average grind-fest with the additional tasks, quests and hobbies adding a huge amount to how you play the game. Revel in the trailer below and jump into one of the best games going:

And, as this a Vita topic, I'll add the customary DAT SCREEN :datass:

I'm going to raise my middle finger at Atlus and make sure a third party (i.e. NIS America) gets some of the money. Plus it's cheaper after shipping. See ya February.

Still playing this. Only managing about an hour a night this week. But could easily be my GOTY 2013.

I can see that. There's loads to it that I've not even started on (just who is that woman in white?) and I love the collectable factor of the Personas. Although some of them need some self censoring. Really, Incubus, really?

Fair enough. It's definitely one to look forward to.

About four hours in.

Just started with Marie's social link, interested to see where it goes.

Persona 4

It took me about 80 hours to complete the PS2 version and this game has even more in it!

I've gotten to the 3rd dungeon, but taking a break to save the game for when I'm off on my travels. God I love this game so much....

The combat system was definitely improved over Persona 3 by giving you the ability to issue commands, though I still get annoyed at the whole mechanic of it being instant game over if the protagonist is killed, but everyone else can be revived :x
My only real gripe with Golden is probably that Chie's new voice actress isn't as good as the old one.

Back on my PS2 run my team was [is]Brosuke, Chie and Yukiko[/is]. This time I'm going to go with a team of [is]Kanji, Naoto and Yukiko[/is].
Went with the Rise romance option, but think I'll try for Marie this time, since that's needed for the secret ending in Golden.

Thread also needs these videos,
Persona 4: The Golden Intro

2nd Intro video from PS2 game (But sadly missing from Golden, probably because of different voice actors)

I also picked up volume 1 of Persona 4 The Animation lately...

And Persona 5 is current in development :D

I love that intro and could watch it over and over again. Harmonica opening FTW.

Another thing that's improved from 3 is that you can spend as much time in the dungeons as you want without exhaustion setting in, I found that quite limiting in 3 with battles become a real chore if one of your party got tired.

I seem to have become the object of Rise's affection somehow but I'm slowly working my way up the relationshop tree with Marie too. I hadn't realised she even had a quest at the start and also that completing it affected the ending. I'm at 6 with her at the moment, might make her my priority now.

50 hours in and currently battling through the Secret Hideout to save Naoto and I need to re-do the fourth dungeon.

Has anyone faced a Reaper yet? Oooh, nasty. [/treaguard]

As much as I love that intro, a friend watched it over my shoulder and well, he has mocked me ever since.

I need new friends :x

Due to a massive backlog of games I'm waiting until the UK release. I might let the missus buy this for my birthday, as the PS2 original is one of my all time favourite games.

Can't wait to play it on DAT SCREEN :datass:

Nope, its still not out but it hasn't been cancelled. I hear the publisher got some copies of the EU version to test and submit though, so it should be coming out here in the next few months.

I've had this game since last year! It's excellent! Definitely one of the best games I've ever played and a reason to buy a Vita!

My wife watched it and said it was like something out of a bad dream.

I need a new wife :x

(Dearest, if you're reading this, know that I jest and have no issue with your general bewilderment when it comes to this sort of thing.)

Persona 4 Arena's up on various sites (Amazon and Game for example) but with no fixed release date on either. Is it a straight sequel or some sort of Persona fighting game? I didn't want to look into too much for fear of spoilers.

Bit of both really. It continues on from Persona 4, a few months after the true ending of the game, but is primarily a fighting game also featuring characters from Persona 3.
I don't think it has any characters from Persona 1 or 2 though.

Sounds pretty frickin' awesome. I'll be keeping an eye out for it when it does eventually make an appearance over here.

I'm really looking forward to it, rare for me with a fighter.
It's actually got a plot to it as well, though I've avoided looking into what the plot actually is.
