After a 72 hour long count down and publishing a mysterious website two months ago Atlus finally announced Persona 5, coming after a string of announcements about smaller games to ramp up the hype. The upcoming JRPG will be released on PS3 in 2014. No other data has been shared besides the participation of Katsura Hashino, Shigenori Soejima and Shoji Meguro, showcased in a short teaser with the message “You’re a slave. Want emancipation?”

That was the best reveal trailer/trolling I have ever seen. The stream started with an old woman on top of a building in Akihabara, talking into a camera for about five minutes. No idea what she was saying, and where participating in the mass confusion on GAF when people realised a trailer for a new game was playing on a big screen in the background.

Persona 4 for Vita is my next purchase for the system after all the great praise. I want a RPG I can really get my teeth into. But I've been stuck playing Hotline Miami and I'm finding it really hard! But it's good to see a JRPG that is not Final Fantasy so loved in the West.

Persona 4 Golden got an average score of 94 on Vita, so this should be good

If PS2 is anything to go by there will be plenty of Japanese PS3 games coming out in 2015.

It might not have been announced but we may see one yet (although it'll likely be a while). Always seemed to happen with the Disgaea games.

Check out Persona 4 definitely. Persona 3 is....ok (Except for [is]the huge slap in the face at the end[/is]), but Persona 4 definitely perfects the formula.

No. The plots of each game are disconnected entirely. There's a brief part in 4 where you visit the town that 3 is set in, but you don't need to have played 3 to follow what's going on even there. It's just basically an Easter egg to reference the previous game.
