It's not lookinglike it is possible, some people have edited there own option files, saved them and tried sending them out but the issue seems to be that when you try and import the saved edit option file the PS4 is not allowing a save from another user. So currently there is no way of getting option files onto the PS4. Not sure about the xbox one so for now everyone is going to have to manually change the team names, kits and other bits and pieces.

What a pain - will just change the Premier League teams and leave it at that. Probably edit the Spurs kit until it is fairly accurate too. It really is amazing how every team and player feels individual. For example, Spain's fluid formation and slick passing is clearly evident as is Real Madrid's focus on their inverted wingers. Modric glides around the pitch and Toni Kroos is a lot more solid, but has lesser dribbling ability.

Hopefully someone will figure out a workaround. It's bizarre that Konami wouldn't intentionally leave in a back door for this - they must know how popular the option files are, and how they get around the licensing bullshit.

I fully expected there to not be a way around the option file thing, take a few hours out one day and change all the names and that if I get it. If someone releases a guide to make the kits look more realistic at least, then I'd be happy to sit and do that manually as well. As long as from a distance it slightly resembles Man City, Chelsea etc.. then I'll be happy.

I believe the issue is that both the PS4 and Xbox One do not allow image / data files to be uploaded from the user. This is a change from the PS3 and Xbox 360 and so Konami no longer has a means of incorporating a kit upload function. I've heard that the solution is for Sony and Microsoft to update the operating software for their consoles, but there is no immediate sign of this happening.

Of course, there is no truth in the rumour that EA suggested to Sony and MS that they add this "security enhancement" to their new consoles.

I would imagine it's Sony/Microsoft preventing it not Konami.

That kinda stuff is good enough for me, Degoose. Cheers. Reckon there is a guide for all unlicensed teams? I'll probably just pick this up and edit all the teams, names, competitions and kits this weekend.

i reckon so at some point, it's a pity they didnt enable the badge editing though. I remember in pro evo back on the original xbox that you could edit badges and i one night spent a good hour following a guide pixel by pixel creating a spurs badge. I was very proud of my final work.

Yep, it's like the software is back to the 2007 days, with no DLNA, or option file downloads, which is such a joke. They seem to be taking things away from us rather than building upon last generation.

There is a certain sense of achievement and it's like the old days sitting editing everyone and their strips. It'd be better if they were fully licensed, but it adds a certain nostalgia having to go it alone.

I agree with this. We had it too easy with Fifa, but I would rather have an edit mode and a superior game. The edit mode is almost a feature of the PES games anyway and I am sure it will improve in the future. I am not sure whether Sony or Microsoft will allow downloading option files, particularly when edit modes are soley there to make kits more like their real life counterparts.

I cannot stress how lovely the full version looks, particularly the lighting and the tiny animations.

what do you think overall with the formation setups, have you given them a go yet and the changes you can make with the positions . The one thing i'm going to try next week is the fluid formations where you can make a team have two different formations , one for attacking and one for defending.

Not had much of a chance to tinker with the formations etc. Have played with a few teams like barcelona and spain, which seem to employ the 4-3-3 setup, although in slightly different ways. I remember the old pro evo days of having a 4-4-2 formation with one striker 'in the hole'. Worked a treat that did!

Will give this a proper go at the weekend and report back on any other things i love about it. Need to give this a go online too. I really would say that every fifa fanatic needs to give this a proper go before dismissing it.

Impressions update:

Offline Slick, fun and challenging.

Online Err... what is going on? It seems that "Online Divisions" is the replacement for "Ranking Match". Fair enough... it appears to be pretty cool. But I cannot find an opponent to play. Seriously, this is on PS4 and there are no players. I've set the match-up to "No matchmaking restrictions" and... nothing.

Has anyone else played online on PS4?

EDIT: It appears that this may be a common issue; PES Fan forum contains complaints from lots of players that the online match options are not working. I guess this is in line with most online game launches nowdays   .

I was just about to come in and ask how is the online this year (playing the CPU in football games isn't for me), and I read jawa's post. :fp:

Still early doors though (everyone knows FIFA is a mess online for the first day or two!), and I'd be interesting in hearing about more of the online, and the online modes once it is up and running.

It seems that the connection problems are mainly affecting players using the PS4. Apparently the online match-making was functioning fine on launch day (Thursday) but things have gone downhill since.

So frustrating. Videogaming is increasingly moving towards online gameplay as the prime channel and yet games launch in such a poor state.
