It's funny how it goes sometimes... just had a 0-0 game as Lazio playing against a guy using Inter and it was brilliant! End-to-end action and great fun :) .

Unusual times. I've had three 0-0 games on the bounce. Played as Lazio versus Inter, Barca and then France. I can't hit a barn door but I'm defending well!

I'm playing 3-4-3, too. Pretty attack-minded, but I just can't score.

Well, I've started scoring again. Three in one game against Barca.

And let in four.

Poser and I had a rumble with PES this evening!

Poser v jawa
Stoke 1-3 Lazio
Bournemouth 1-1 Palmeiras

We were gonna play more but Poser Jr stopped play  .

Thanks for the games, man! I got a little lucky there as, whilst playing earlier, I could barely score and yet I took my chances in those two. I know you'll kick butt in future matches :) .

How's your latest season in Division 7 going Jawa? Hopefully your run of 0-0 draws hasn't left it too difficult to stay up?

Been using a mixture of Poland and Turkey recently, both give 510 points for a win but have surprisingly solid teams, I'd recommend them as good teams to try out if you're looking for something different. Poland have a striker called Steger up front who is rated 90 (it's Lewandowski but presumably they don't have the license to use his details) so if you get into good positions he'll usually put them away.

Good games, though, thanks.

Just before we played I did my final game in a Division 7 season. I'd put off playing it as I only needed a draw for promotion. I came up against a decent guy playing as Crystal Palace and drew 3-3. I was so tense. Properly tight shoulders!

Hey, sawyer, I did stay up :) . I switched to using Arsenal and managed to get a few wins but needed a victory in the final game. I played against (surprise!) Real Madrid and I was 2-0 up when the guy started pausing the game at every break in play, decided to wait for the countdown timer at goal kicks and that type of thing... and then he quit. So, a little unsatisfactory as I was awarded the default 3-0 victory, but - hey! - I stayed up! I'm back to Lazio now, too.

Hmmn... they sound interesting. I have used Lazio for ages now (bar my foray into Arsenal couple of games!) but I will try out a different team. I usually stick with a team for the whole of an Online Divisions season... for better or worse :) .

Man, it must be tough when baby wants to be awake for hours at night! Yeah, the games were cool, although I suspect that you would have started to rack up a few goals had we played on. My finishing has been terrible over the past week; I think that I'm trying to hit the ball too hard and so my shots have got wayward.

Nice play, man. The power of PES! When you get achy shoulders, you know that the game has your full attention! Congrats on reaching Division 6, dude. I've got there three times using Lazio but never survived for more than a single season. Last time a guy whipped me using Hull... I couldn't get near the ball  .

Plodding along fairly nicely in my Division 4 season as Turkey, sitting on 2,040 points with 4/6 wins. Just 2 more wins needed to stay up, or 4 wins out of 4 for promotion :dread:

So... how'd it end up, sawyer?

PES can be a funny old game. After that run where I was really struggling, I've started a new season in Online Division 7 and, in my opening four games as Lazio, won 4-2, 4-2, 4-0 and 3-0. I'm enjoying it whilst it lasts :) .

Well I promptly lost my next two games :fp:  Both were against Real Madrid unsurprisingly, one was particularly annoying as the other player scored with every single one of their crosses in the box leading to a 5-3 loss, Ronaldo and Bale just outjumped my players everytime. I went on to win my third game so needed to win my final game to stay up. I was winning a comfortable game 4-1 against Barcelona when there was a disconnection... Apparently they couldn't decide whose connection it was and so the match was voided. In my second attempt I beat Barcelona again 2-1 in a very nervy game, the other player equalised on around 75 minutes but luckily I scored again almost immediately to secure the win. Avoided relegation in Div 4 for the first time!

That's a good run of games Jawa, it's always good when you go on a winning streak, especially when you're scoring plenty of goals per game as well. You must be close to promotion already with those results :D

Yeah, and last week I couldn't get a goal; it's funny how form goes :-).

In my final game of my Online Division 7 season I was playing as Lazio against Real Madrid and went one-nil up early in the match... and the guy paused the game for ages and then just quit. Fair enough, I was promoted to Online Division 6 :toot: . I'd thought that players wouldn't be such cry-babies at this heady height, but I'm two games in using Lazio and the tears have started.

Match 1 was against Real Madrdid (obvs, I guess) and the guy went 2-1 up just before half-time even though I'd had most of the play. Anyway, he proceeded to pause the game lots of times and take the maximum time over goal-kicks and the like, before I smashed a twenty-yarder into the top corner to grab the equaliser. He then started playing properly again, trying to get a winner but he couldn't. A decent 2-2 to start the season.

Match 2 was against OGC Nice and it was a great game; end-to-end, decent play and I had edged a one-goal advantage. I then broke away with a fluid move down field and nabbed a second with ten minutes to go... and he quit the game.

When will the crying end?!? .

I think I may now be operating in some kind of PES alternate reality. I'm in Online Division 6 and have won five games on the bounce. And this is all a follow-on from when I dropped to Division 8 and - almost literally - could not hit a barn door.

Strange times... but I'm enjoying it :toot: .

I'm in Online Division 5  .

Just about held on for a 0-0 against Real in my first match. Still using Lazio :-).

Okay... sawyerpip and I just had a few online games :toot: . Things started out kinda okay... sawyer edged me out in an eight-goal thriller - he won 7-1  . It didn't help that I started out dreadfully and was 1-0 down after about four seconds :fp: .

Anyway, I enjoyed the matches and no doubt sawyer enjoyed kicking my butt, too. My arms, hands and shoulders are aching from manouvering the joypad to try and keep up  .

The full results were:

sawyerpip v jawa

Udinese 7-1 Lazio
Swansea 3-0 Palmeiras
Sparta Rotterdam 0-1 CSKA

Thanks for the games, dude :) . I noticed that you're ranked as level 820  .

Good games Jawa! Udinese were a surprisingly good team, Zapata was brilliant up front, it seemed like he was the first to everything. Well played in the final game too, I thought I was going to snatch an equaliser at the end there but just headed wide :x

Yep my ranking is quite good now, although I can't see myself getting much higher, I think I've hit my level. It really helps if you can win 5 games in a row as you get a big boost to your ranking.

I don't know how your players managed to win nearly every physical battle (heading and tackling)... it's like they had extra strength! Are you using the right analog stick for that, dude?

sawyerpip wrote:...It really helps if you can win 5 games in a row as you get a big boost to your ranking.

I got that boost for the first time earlier - I'd never won five online matches in a row before! I'm in Online Division 5 now which is probably a step or two too far for me... I got a 0-0 in the first game but it was real backs-to-the-wall stuff  .

I enjoyed our games and it was great experience to play against that kind of standard.

No I don't use the right analogue stick for that, I'm not sure what I'm doing differently to you. Sometimes I use R2 to control the players movement off the ball and get them in position for the header, maybe it's that?

Ah, that may be it. I don't use R2 that much - occasionally for a controlled shot if I remember! - so I'll have to try this out.

Don't think I could do it, for similar reasons I could play the cello but not the piano as a kid - I can't concentrate on two things at once. :slol:

I smiled at all the fancy new dribbling moves they've added to the new game (see Nick's latest linked video in the other thread)... I'll mainly be ignoring those, then. 8-)
