So, Peter Crisp's signature is currently the following:

jiggles wrote:Nobody with a VR headset is going to be using it regularly this time next year, let alone in 4 years time.

Posted 16th March 2016. Let's see.

We're way past a year since that was posited, so, is anyone still regularly using VR, or has it petered (pun unintended) out in the same way that Jiggles predicted?

I used my headset this week to play Dirt Rally, I Expect You to Die, Virry and a bit of Driveclub so I count that as still using it :shifty: .

To be fair, during March I was pretty much only playing Zelda, so I wasn't regularly playing PSVR.

On the other hand I just bought Eagle Flight and I'm eagerly awaiting both Polybius later this month and Farpoint next month.

The lack of AAA VR games is pretty telling. I imagine we'll find out if there is much support from major publishers at E3.

With 3 positive replies I think we can say with scientific accuracy that everyone is playing PSVR all the time so my sig was spot on.

I played through a Dirt Rally VR campaign last weekend. Got it in the PSN sale. Terrific experience. Better than Driveclub as a VR racer. Also, I went through Until Dawn Rush of Blood over St. Patrick's Day. Absolutely loved it. I'm a huge fan of lightgun games and it filled that gap pretty spectacularly. Might be my favourite VR game actually. I want more on-rails games like that. Such an underrated genre. I also bought Robinson The Journey in a sale a while back but it made me a little dizzy while playing so I haven't touched it since :fp: I seem to have a problem with VR games where you have full movement control (Resi 7 was the same, couldn't play it without feeling nauseous). It's the turning that did it. A shame.

Looking forward to Farpoint next month. I really, really want this that to be good (and I hope I can actually hack it) All impressions of it so far have been very positive.

I played through Resident Evil 7 entirely in VR which was cool.

That was January. I haven't played since due to the fact that I don't have the headset out all of the time and can't always be bothered to set it up (the lack of HDR when using the breakout box also adds to this).

I'll probably get a few more games for it at some point, though.

I loved Rush of Blood, too. It's pretty light on content, though, but I'd imagine it's pretty cheap now.

If anyone has a PSVR and doesn't own Rez Infinite, now is an excellent time to buy it.

Also goes for Thumper.

I used my vive almost daily up until zelda came out and now I've started winding down my play on it, I'm using the vive again.

To be fair, H, it's so good that I'm sure you'll agree that even non-PSVR owners should buy it, too :toot: .

Of course if it was up to me then people who didn't even own a PS4 would have to buy it just in case. Its one of my all time favourite games.

But especially PSVR owners.

It's for the best, terrible way of introducing people to VR.

Price drops for the likes of HTC Vive can't come soon enough.

Mine is in the cupboard gathering dust. It's great as a VR introduction but being tied to a mobile device with limited headtracking makes it pretty limited in what it can do.

Mine was a gateway drug to better vr, I loved or for what it was but wanted proper vr gaming so moved on.

So, strangely enough, Vodafone are actually giving GearVRs away for nout now. I haven't got a black one, so I ordered another. Why not.
