Starting a Horus Heresy Campaign with 5 friends in the New Year, culminating in a 10,000pt game at Warhammer World in March.

Thought I'd get a head start with the new boxset.

I'd had the urge to get into 40k for a while, then discovered Kill Team which seemed perfect for me - small squads, skirmish battles. I got the Into the Dark terrain (no minis) for a good price last month, and have been building/painting an Intercessor squad (I'll post a pic in the tabletop gaming thread).

The Kasrkin just arrived today. Looking forward to building and painting those guys.

More LOTR merch from Rogue Print Co.

I reckon about half the tshirts I have in regular rotation are LOTR ones from there now. I've been reading The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings in full together this year, and it's sent me off the deep end with this stuff.

I like the long print. Smart way to save on screen costs too.

I have some Tom Ford fragrances but never tried any of these premium OUD ones as they are usually so expensive. So giving this a try with it being on such a great offer for £112 for 50ml.

Been eyeing up this Bang & Olufsen wireless speaker for some time and finally got it after seeing it on sale (£849) at John Lewis. The sound is just beautiful! But it totally isn't only about the sound. Its the whole package...its like a piece of furniture (especially the oak finish version), looks ace with a slim profile and sounds better than a lot of bigger speakers or separates, its totally portable it can travel with me.

This is a weird request but can you post a picture of where you store all these socks? I'm genuinely unsure how you fit them all in.

Not much to see tbh, it's a pile that I generally keep undercover to make sure they don't gather too much dust.

However, here is the makeshift storage area, along with my unused collection (every so often, I go through them and choose a few pairs to wear)...

Damn you're rich. 849 for a single like that is still mad.

I assume the Tom Ford one smells incredible?

It was hard to bite the bullet at £849 trust me. I listened to other speakers too. Like the wireless pair of KEF LSX II active speakers for £899 on sale. But wasn't too keen because at high volumes I could hear what I think was distortion. B&O has DSP which stops this from happening by making the sound wave smaller when it reaches the upper limit of the speaker I think.
I also considered separates like a adecent amp paired with a pair of Bowers and Wilkins bookshelf speakers but it was looking at £1300.

But in the end I was won over by something compact and portable yet still has ground breaking sound. And it looks so good imo. B&O have also built it with replaceable parts so in the future when things like WiFi connectivity changes you can just buy a new module and replace it, even the battery is removable. The sound is just so satifisying and relaxing to listen too. Infact some expensive speakers can sound very fatiguing to the ears and not good for prolonged listening. Such as my Apple HomePod...just doesn't sound very accurate and lacks clarity and very boomy with too much bass.

I haven't smelt the TF fragrance lol so a bit of a blind buy but it must be good and I like woody scents in general.

I got wharfedale diamond's and a marantz amp for prob similar to that B&O one, the important thing for me is the soundstaging which you obviously need multiple speakers for. Can push them way beyond 90db with zero distortion too which is good.

I was looking at those kef's a while back but did read mixed things.

It actually sounds great on low volume and also has a night mode ;) I would never rank up to max volume unless they had something on loud annoying me lol

Tbh maybe it was the powerful sound from the KEFs causing a rattle in the room at richersounds? I doubt something that high end would distort? But anyway they are very big for my space so Beosound Level is my best option.
I've heard good things about Whaferdale and Marantz. Problem for me is that most amps I looked at that include wifi are quite expensive.
The sound stage of the beosound level seems very decent when I am directly in front of it. Notes float in the air and you get that hifi wet sonic sound quality ha probably been reading too much marketing.
Do you have anything in mind for a future upgrade? I know us audiophiles are always looking for the next best setup :)

Purchased a couple of metal posters from Displate, with art by Carles Dalmau (artist at Massive Monster, who made Cult of the Lamb).

The shipping was quick, the wall-mounting process super easy, and they look great on my wall. I can see at least a couple more of these posters in my future.

A Ric Rac aka fish bone aka selenisereus anthonyanus cactus from Columbia road flower market today for £35
This is really a rare find been after it for years!! As they usually only sell the similar looking and more common epiphyllum anguliger cactus.
