I don’t think the current cases (like the one I have) will work for wireless charging, they will be realising a new AirPods case, on the photos it shows a battery indicater light on the front of the case,

Of course, then you can upgrade the case for your headphones.

I'm so glad I'm not in this race, but each to their own. Charging headphones, strawberry float that.

Actually I think it was LewisD.

I’ll post pictures when they turn up if anyone’s genuinely interested but over the past week I’ve veen doing hype for the new set which drops in a few weeks time. Picking up my cards for it early basically helps me guarantee that I can practice and learn the new decks and changes to the archetypes we currently have, and also have the cards for tournaments. To that end:

New Booster Box & Collector Kit (42 packs): £115
Older playable cards which will be useful: £15.12
New playable cards which will be format defining: £59.25
Some other new cards that were out of stock on my primary supplier: £17.19

Sets me up pretty well for the next three months, means I won’t be paying inflated prices when the stores realise how good the cards are. Arguably I could cancel the order for the sealed products now but I enjoy opening packs and having a larger pool of cards to fall back on.

I've got to admit, cheap luxury bed linen (when it goes out of fashion of what the strawberry float ever) is lush. Unfortunately moved to double bed (I think my duvet cover was double anyway I'm not sure so should dig it out) years ago and it's all low thread count now, it's one of those subtle but noticeable QOL things. Might have to have a word with the lady.

Oh well, at least it's always kept clean which isn't something most students would keep up (at the time)...

I think the brand was Dorma and the sheets were Egyptian cotton from elphicks.

It's something worth taking advantage of when you spot online and it isn't some wanky flowery thing.

Lovely S8 after I smashed my S7 upon leaving Black Panther: Unused second-hand from a friend, £380.

I wasn't looking to upgrade but I'm sort of glad I smashed my old phone now. This one is much nicer to hold that the S7, with a strawberry floating ridiculous screen and some cracking new features.

I've not upgraded my phone for 5 years now and I'm glad to have saved hundreds of pounds. I don't even turn the thing on anymore.

Does apple even make a non pro laptop anymore? Seeing as they're largely used to browse the web anyway.

Having said that, not a bad price. If I couldn't add an SSD I would have probably got rid by now. That and the GPU has melted and the wifi broke itself.

I was gifted a Macbook Air for Christmas and it's a brilliant machine. I use it mainly for writing and it's so light I could conceivably just carry it to the local coffee shop without a bag. The normal MacBook range is...wanting at the moment according to my designer friends. The low end Macbook, which is £200 more than my Air was, has much lower specs and no USB slots, the only advantage being the better screen.

£500 for a Pro is ridiculously cheap though. I'm assuming its second hand or an old one.

Also, Richard, what the strawberry float do you do for a living? Every time I come in here you've either dropped £1500 on cats or some other huge sum on a seemingly endless stream of gadgets.

The MacBook I got is a older model but it’s in fantastic condition (like new) I wanted this model due to it having a disc drive (so I can copy my cds to iTunes and watch dvds if away from home) it also has USB ports and even a sd card slot, it only arrived yesterday so I have not spent very much time on it but it seems really fast, the first thing I did was to buy and download my favourite ever game that I have not played for years (command and conquer generals) I’m extremely happy with it

Money is very tight at the moment, for years our income was getting better and better and I wouldn’t really think about how much I’m spending but over the past year it’s started to go down and down, we do property developing, property rentals, importing pet products, plus some other small businesses (like today I will be aviary building) we also have a host of failed businesses such as a estate agent, log cabin importer, garden centre etc basically anything you can do that’s legal for money! We have been forced to sell many of our assets so it all seems rosey but the reality is we could lose it all and end up with nothing and have to start again,

They still sell the Air as their entry-level MacBook. I think they discontinued the 11-inch version though so. there's just the 13inch version now and it doesn't have a Retina display.

There's the 12inch MacBook (not called the Air) that's the really thin 12inch fanless one that only has a single USB-C socket on it. I really didn't see the point in this model, most people were just wanting an Air with a Retina display but they came out with this and it sounded pretty disappointing.

Is that the 2015 model? Tons of folk still swear by that one and Apple still sell them refurbished. I was tempted to get one but opted for a 2017 15inch one instead.

I also came into a MacBook thru university grant and although I have had to fix it and literally every single mac mid 2010 model has or will die because the GPU has a known fault that kills itself it is still holding up pretty damn well even with 4gb RAM (it's an i7 but not really since it is only dual core but with 4 threads) so they are very decent machines but not quite as decent as some would exalt.

It is quite heavy actually and was thinking of getting an air and building a hackintosh

The good thing is I still have a full suite of io, for professional use the current direction is really quite ridiculous as you hold onto other hardware such as outbound audio gear (FireWire or sub) and cameras (SD and usb) for a very long time time.

I'll never afford one myself though

Richard that is an interesting story, it's important to reward yourself. Congratulations on your current liquidity, a lot of people don't understand business risk and many of the illusions and stakes involved. I'm also self employed but am still scrimping.
